Do any of you make pantaloons/bloomers? I was thinking that they'd be not only cute but pretty practical under a tiered skirt for my summer "post baby" uniform that I'm making (skirts, coordinated aprons and T-shirts or nursing T's), and I was wondering if any of you had patterns that you use and like.

I like the idea of having a little more material going on below when I'm kneeling down in the garden or in a very windy day, which we have a lot here during spring and autumn.

I know they're old-fashioned, but it seems like this might be a good idea!

Ohhhh Libbie! Finally, someone who appreciates bloomers! Do you know I looked for a year trying to find patterns?! After an exhaustive search, a friend surprised me with several pair (& matching camisoles!). My favorite is a soft peachy- pink flannel! Soooo comfy! For a pattern she used a pair of PJ pants that I already had, and added an elastic waist & gathered the ankles (plus a little ruffle) They are very basic, I'm sure you won't have any trouble! What a great after-the-baby-comes idea too!

After searching the web for a pattern, here's one I found: [http://home.aol.com/ilove2lace/bloomer.html] . I think it will be really basic, but that's what I want to start with. Any other ideas out there?

Rhonda - thanks for the input! Wow - matching camisoles?!?! How fun!!!!!

I think the pattern books still have patterns of them. Just look in the costumes sections. I'm almost positive I saw some last time I was at the fabric store looking through the pattern books! I was thinking of making some myself....though not sure when I'd really wear them, I just love how they look!

I was thinking of making chemises, camisoles and bloomers for farm fair. Any takers?
