My new camera fiiinnnnaaaalllllyyyyy came in! So we decided to drive past my mamaw's old place, which is where will be moving to once the work is finished. I believe it is almost ready. [crossing fingers]

Anyhoo it still needs alot of work, but I like to stay busy. LOL

Congratulations! I was thinking about you tonight and hoping you could be settled in to start a spring garden. It looks like home! I can imagine flowers out front to welcome you home. There is something so special about a home where someone you love has lived, its kind of like love seeps into the floorboards.

Oh yes I have totally re-finished the inside of the house, well in my mind anyway! My mamaw loved working in the yard. Down one side of the house and out front are a bunch of iris. I believe you can see them tryin to poke through. We have had beautiful spring like weather the last couple of weeks. The tree out front there is a dogwood. If I remember right, it has white flowers. The trees down the left side are mostly catalpha and there's a gum ball tree out back. There is also a pretty rose bush, kind of an orangy color. (My personal fav on roses!)

Susan I don't know if I will get there in time to put out the garden I really want, but I will at least have some tamotoes and i hope some green beans this summer. Next year will be better! And of course we are going to have plenty of gorgeous flower beds. Matthew is super excited about getting them going.

Oh and did you see that HUGE mailbox right up by the porch? Isn't that perfect for receiving farmgirl mail! {{giggles}} The house is over 100 years old. I LOVE old and I love history. When all the work is finished, there will be 4 bedrooms, 1 bath, kitchen, dining room, living room, craft room and there's a cellar. And since I will be renting from my aunt who is a HUGE animal lover, I know my critters can go with me and if a lost critter needs a place to stay I know they can come in too.

Oh wow Melanie - what fun. One of my favorite things about my house is the flowers that come up that I didn't plant, what fun to know you have them coming!! Have fun working on your beautiful house

Melanie I am so happy for you. I have a love of old homes too. The fact that it's a family home makes it even more special. I was raised rehabing homes since I was a little girl. There is a great DIY website where you can get detailed instructions and watch a video on how to do just about everything!

It's all good!

ooooo Please share the website with me, Michelle. First I'm going to start in the upstairs half. The kids bedrooms will be up there. And then once that is finsished I plan to do a room at a time. I'd love to do as much of the I possibly can myself.
