I have one of my dear grandmother's old vinyl handbags. You know the kind - shiny, with a pinch closer, little patent look handles and gold-toned feet on the bottom. Anyhow, I am thinking of decoupaging copies of old photos, vintage cut-outs etc. on it but wasn't sure how that would work. Was wondering if the decoupage glue would crack as the bag is used. I would hate to ruin it. Any mod-podge addicts out there with tips? Thanks!

hey Staci, I play with Modge Podge all the time, on glass dishes, canning jars, vintage luggage...but I have never tried it on vinyl (handbags)...maybe you could buy a junky one at a Thrift shop and experiment on it 1st before taking on your grandmothers handbag. All in all, it probablly depends on how soft the handbag sides are as to whether the decoupaged pics will stay on w/o peeling or cracking. But let us know how it turns out.

I bet it would work..worth a try..but I would practice on something else first. Years ago some friends and I decopaged on the resin stacking chairs...it was fun and sure made them cute! We did a patriotic thing and some gardeny ones...very simple too. We used layers from decorated paper napkins and modgepodge. Have fun and be sure to tell us how it turns out!
