Just wanted to drop a note to say I got a delightful card and decorated envelope from Gail #64! What a sweet card and I loved the blurb about coloring eggs with onion skins, as this was something we meant to do this year but just never got around to doing. Thank you so much Gail!!
I am still working on my outgoing, it should be mailed either tomorrow or Wednesday...

Hi farmgirls love all the mail art that is on the site. You all did a beatiful job, now I will know what to do when I join in. How much talent you all have. Have a question when doing the mail art, is it about yourself, things that you love doing and like? It will be my first time when we start. Love farmgirl 462

Debra, I think mail art is pretty much whatever you make it! I have seen folk pour their heart and soul into small works of art that reflect themselves, while others just make a handcrafted card or envelope that of course is still a treasure because someone bothered to make it for you. Some folk concentrate on the card inside, while others like to entertain their postal workers as much as humanly possible LOL. It's one of those areas where *anything* goes. That's what's great about getting it from different people, as all will approach it differently. Catherine |

I tried to make my envelpoe pretty and the post lady wrote in big ole red marker "fragile" and a black stamp. I was so upset. Next time I'll know.

Grrr...oh Kris, I HATE that!! A lot depends on your local post office employees. I have two offices I can walk to, and one is known in the greater area as having the surliest folk around LOL. So I take cute envies to the other office. I also will tell them to hand cancel something that might have dimensional elements or some such, and I try to leave an area free on the envelope so they can stamp if they like. OR I will write "Hand Cancel" or "Fragile" on there myself, so they do not have to do so. All these ideas are from trial and error, trust me :) Catherine |

Debra,
I email each "Mail Art-ist" with a name and address to SEND TO each month. It is a DIFFERENT person each month. You will be in the "mix" for the MAY Mail-Out Round and I will email you with the name and address of the person you SEND TO around the first of May.
Hope that helps!! In the meantime you can get your creative spirit working on the project to mail out. Let me know if you have other questions!!! THANKS!!! CJ (organizer/coordinator)

I'm so excited! I just mailed out my mail art...gave the youngest two kit kat bars and the oldest a smoothie just so I could get put the finishing touch on and address it.
I had so much fun with this one I'd like to make more that are a variation on the theme. Is it okay to use the same project for different months as long as it's a different recipient? What do you think? I don't want to offend anyone.

Amy, I think you can do the same thing as often as you want, because you will send to a different person each month. I probably will do sort of the same thing with my mail art.
That's the beauty of this project . . . you can be as creative as you want and each person will be able to enjoy receiving different expressions of creativity with each mailing because it is from a different person.
I also like that you don't receive from the same person as you send to . . . I believe that keeps is "spread around a little more".
Anyway, you girls sound like you're having fun and enjoying your artsy creations!! YAY!!!
GO FOR IT!!!!
REMEMBER: Mail OUT deadline is APRIL 15th. If you haven't RECEIVED by April 25th, please let me know right away!!
THANKS!! CJ

Robin, it has arrived!!! I returned from work last night to find a fun envelope in my mailbox. I couldn't wait to open it! Thank you, Robin!! I received a beautiful Easter piece of art. A tad hard to explain but it looks like an Easter postcard with a rabbit and a wheelbarrow of eggs, set on a piece of fabric, with a hanging beaded edge along the bottom. Robin also decorated the postcard with beads and hay. Very fun - and something that will be out every Easter. Thanks again!

Everyday I get so excited just to see everyone's response to Mail-art and swaps, etc....it's so exciting to see other women get so excited about the little things that bring joy!!! The anticipation is almost as good as the mail-art......(I've not done it yet, I'm signed up for next month's, but I can only imagine what fun it is to receive something from like minded women!) So excited, what fun to look forward to!
