I've been looking for a 7/8 or 4/4,leaning towards the 7/8 size as it's just under the full size of 4/4,better known as a "ladies violin" felt very blessed-found a new one, never used,as "new old stock" this seller purchased the estate of a violin luthier & I got this on a BIN of $39 (includes shipping!) all I have to do is put the bridge on & new strings & I'm all set. If I like it as well as I think I will, the 3/4 size I've been playing will be put up for bid.

Sounds divine. Fiddle was the instrument I always wanted to learn how to play. I settled for guitar and piano. I guess there is still time...

You got a great deal. What a lucky gal!! Hope you enjoy your new find.

Sherrie"
How nice. You'll have to bring the fiddle to our Virtual Porch and give us a performance.

where's the virtual porch? ;-)
It's never too late to learn-I'm 46 and started in Feb. If you do end up shopping for one, google shop goodwill online and you'll be taken to the site where I won the auction for the one I'm playing presently. Registration is free there, & If you want, once you're registered I can send you the listing I consider to be decent ones.

That's so cool - I love both Irish and oldtime, although I am partial to bluegrass. I always thought it would be cool to learn to play the fiddle - how long have you been playing?

barely a month but it's not nearly as hard as most make it out to be! I can play a few tunes already.

I love when I find the "treasure" or silver tuna as my children call it!

It's all good!

Congratulations on the fiddle, Sherrie! I'd love to see a Youtube video of you playing it.
