So, I have two friends (who happen to be sisters) who are BOTH likely to pop within the next 5 days. I'm looking for some casserole type dishes to bring to them. I figured I'd pair it with a green bean casserole and some fresh wheat rolls.

Any recommendations? I love spicy food, but, I know those are out. Anything else is game, so, give me some ideas!

Starbucks and sushi to green fried tomatoes and corn pudding-I wouldn't change it for the world.

Nursing moms can have trouble with eating onions, babies sometimes refuse the milk.

What I really appreciated when I had my daugther was my sister cooking for me and putting food in the freezer. She made a big pot of Chili and a big pot of spaghetti sauce and then we froze it so I could do a quick meal. A good lasagna would be nice too. I think the tomato sauces are good because they have iron in them. You just have to be careful to go easy on any strong spice like onion, garlic, and even chili powder because as Cindy Lou mentioned it can make the baby refuse the mom's milk.

Shepherds pie either with mashed potatoes or a crust would be welcome, I think
And old fashioned spinach lasagne would also freeze well
Meat loaf is sometimes good with some families

Nothing too exotic due to the nursing mama problem of flavours carried to the milk

One of my favorite casseroles that my Mom hasn't made in forever is tatertot casserole. I don't know the exact recipe, but it's a soup, some beef, tatertots, obviously, and a mish-mash of some veggies. Try googling it and see what you find. It's delicious and is very easy to make.

I found a tater tot casserole on allrecipes, along with a few others. I think I'll make at least one dinner and a breakfast casserole. :)
