So this bowl cover is made from a dresser scarf and it's covering bowls from 8 1/2 to 10 inches.
Again, just happy to have feedback. I don't want to spend time making things people won't want. Just want to know what kinds of things you think would do best.
The bowl cover is elasticized but I may change that to cord that can be loosened or pulled tighter to fit varying sized bowls better. The edges have bias tape machine sewn on and handstitched closed on in the back.
Thanks so much for looking. You're all so kind.

I like it. I just found a pie cover that my grandma had made (I got it when she passed away) that has a draw string in it. I could take a picture of it if you'd like to see it. I think it even has handles sewn into it.
I think I personally like the elastic because I'm all about "fast and easy", and I think that would be a lot easier than having to tie it on...that's just me though.

I would love to see how your grandma made it. Even if I use elastic, I love to see the old handwork. It's something to be treasured, for sure. |

I use my Longaberger bowls for everything!
Let me get the measurements......
They are 8" across the top. Will that work for them?
I really like this idea. Good thinking!

This sized cover will fit an 8 inch bowl, but the closure has to be drawstring. If it's elastic, it's not quite tight enough to look nice (although it covers) on an 8" bowl, but still has to be able to fit the bigger 10" bowl.
I was hoping to make 3 sizes, but with a drawstring, 2 sizes might be enough. I'm making more of that size today using old checked table cloths and lighter weight denim. |

Sometimes I'm going to want it tight, for leftovers. Other times I'm going to want it loose for growing bread dough.
Are you going to do the drawstring?
I'm going to wait for the drawstring ones.

I love your bowl covers- they are just darling! What a great idea. And a nice way to use up fabric scraps that accumulate in the bottom drawer. Why didn't I think of that?

I want to get some of these from you. Please send me an email with some prices so I can send you some money. I think I like the drawstring idea, but would get one with elastic, too. Thanks!

Hey, Nancy Jo - thanks for asking. All the prices and styles are in Marketplace. Two have been spoken for, the embroidered one and one blue plaid. I can make them drawstring or elasticized.
I am hoping this week to get them on Etsy....time moves too fast! |

What a great idea-I love your bowl covers too especially the embroidered one. I like the idea of elastic to keep it secure 'cross the bumpy country roads. I think a tie would be cute too though. I bet they will sell fast.

I love my cloth bowl cover! It fits my bowl perfectly! Well made too.
Since you are just starting out, this is just a suggestion.
More sizes! I have lots of bowls!
Thank you so much!

So happy it fits nicely. I have wanted to get around to making more sizes. Last week did not pan out as I wanted and this week looks crazy too, but I'm determined to make more things and get them into my new etsy shop. Maybe I can get more sizes done this week. I still have a number of the large ones too. Got to be strict about my distractions! (not really angry - just a good firm GROWL!) |

Ok, a thought occured to me, how about elastic with one of those toggle things?? Maybe the toggle could hide inside the seam? |
