Well, I 'll be joining you in playing in the dirt, just as soon as the snow melts and the ground unfreezes. That should be oh, April or so LOL!

Oh you lucky girl! I was just thinking I need to get out there and make some raised beds and transplant some strawberry plants closer to the water supply. I should be able to do that. I want more raised beds. That way no matter the weather I could still plant something. And they can be covered up, too. It's just the cost of buying the lumber that hurts. I could do a bed a week maybe.
I might have to move to Fla. or Tex soon. I am jealous, Tina. But have fun in the dirt. Think of all us mud farmers while your at it, ok?

Tina -
We are having an unusual warm winter this year - so I too played in the dirt so to speak yesterday. I pruned roses, cleaned up winter debris and made a nice big pile of wood clippings for my husband to take to the yard recycling place because my two yard debris cans are full for the curbside guy! I have lettuce and spinach sprouting in my cold frame and I am also trying to start cucumbers and tomatoes. My Rhubarb is already sprouting. According to our weather guy we are a full month ahead as far as the temperature goes - it like March here. I was out in sunglasses and short sleeves yesterday.

mee too, Tina! Yesterday too! My sugar snaps are now planted. And fertilized and fenced. The grands helped me yesterday and it was so nice to feel the warm breezes!

it was a gorgeous day yesterday wasn't it Jeannie? Last night saw the temps drop down a good bit though.A few sunny days and those seeds should start sprouting up in no time. I put in swiss chard, radicchio, snow peas, carrots, nardello's sweet italian peppers(the peppers honestly they need warmer soil temps of about 70 to germinate properly, I just wanted to see if they'd go ahead and sprout outdoors for me though) also planted a few goldcrop wax bean, provider bush bean, blue lake bush bean, royal burgundy bean. So we should start seeing some sprouts in the next few days with things.:0) Today I awoke to the huge Eurasian Collared Doves just a cooing in the trees outside, gosh they can get loud, but I love how they sound. They are about the size of a large pigeon and when they fly they flash white under wings, love them, very pretty birds, on occasion we see pied colored ones(white with rust brown splashes on the wings), and have seen nearly pure white ones. These type of birds were started as a domestic release down in the Keys, but have progressively moved South, according to the Audubon Society there is a very large known community of the birds near my neighborhood, and I can attest to this fact. I know exactly where they roost at night...right across the highway about 2 blocks from my house in the large oak trees right on the grounds of a trailer/rv. campground park by the water. A few of them swing by to visit me every now and again though.:0) have a great day!

Tina - I think we have spring fever, and it was nice to get a dose of time outdoors. Hope no more big freezes are on the way! Are you in Ocala yet? You planted a lot!!! :)
Oh, and check your blog address link above. The first one says thegardengoose, and it does not take you to your blog. Then when you go to gardengoose, it takes you there.
