I just had to show off my new apron I finished today. I am going for my Apron expert badge. I have only been sewing for a few months and was really proud of this one. I have been using the Simplicity Best Sewing Book to teach myself. To get the expert you have to come up with your own design. I used some of the techniques I have already learned but I also use some I had never done before. This is my first waist band, pleats and lacey trim. The lace was the hardest part. I had a heck of a time keeping it straight and on the fabric. This apron is going to my sister for her birthday next Thursday. I have to make one more for the badge.

You apron looks really good, its so cute!! How do you like your sewing book? I need to find a good sewing book, I am an absolute beginner! An apron will hopefully be my first project.
Great Job!

Kerry I think the book is wonderful. When I first started sewing this past October the only sewing experience I had was hemming my pants by hand. The book explains very well. I don't think I would have gotten this far without it. I would recommend it to anyone just learning.

Cute!! I just finished a half apron and a full apron, will apply for a badge but my computer no longer works with pictures so I'm not sure how soon I will be able to send pix in. Anyway, nice job on design
