Last year I made an apron from a pair of my hubbies cast off jeans....we'll while out with kpaints & dairyprincess, I saw some cute versions using the "butt" of the jeans....and just had to give it a try.
Just using what memory cells I had left, I committed the 'apron' to memory (haha!)and after dinner last night got to stitchin'...so go take a peek in my katmom blog to see how it turned out.
Oh and by the way, it is not a 1 hour project...hahah!

Now to figure out how to make those 'Blue jeans" purses...w/o having to buy a pattern....

All of your aprons are so cool Grace! I have a sewing machine, but I never learned how to use it. I do enjoy knitting and crocheting though.
God's Blessings,

oh Megan,
find a friend or relative who will sit down with you and walk you thru the use of your machine....don't be afraid to "get stitchin'....
Practice making baby bibs or simple eco-tote bags....once you feel comfortable just throw caution to the wind and sew up a storm.
Also I have seen some really cool vintage crochet aprons....just think of all the cool ones you could crochet.
Have fun.

Love it! Now I have another idea for my big stack of jeans.
Once the boys outgrow and otherwise use up their jeans I can't bear to throw them away. Or any of our cast-off jeans for that matter. :)

Oh, and I make Blue Jean "butt bags".
Just cut the legs off (right around the crotch seam). Turn it inside out, sew across the bottom (where you just cut off the legs). Line it if you'd like. I take the inside seams from the pants legs and sew them on for handles, very sturdy. Some pretty ribbon through the belt loops, buttons (or those great yo-yo's you make!) and other little decorations and you're good to go.
Very versatile!

oh Alicia,
i have seen those in cutesie boutique type shops...but the $70 price tag is what stops me from buying one...and knowing that i could make myself....but they are cute & fun & go perfect with jeans & cowgirl boots oh and of course a perfect match for a apron wearing Diva!!

Grace,

You are so crafty with fabric and a sewing machine it wouldn't take you but a moment to whip one of those "butt bags" out! And I bet you have lots of cute-sey fabric to line it with. If you'd like a variety of sizes I could send you some size 3T and 4T little boys jeans.

:) Alicia
