Judith...good for you! Those are so fun to make...but as I remember you were making a LOT of them. You probably won't be able to look at a Sushi Roll for a very long time.!!! Ha Ha!
Merry Christmas Farmgirl Friend! Please read my latest blog!

Did a couple of lacy mitts, two with fine crochet thread on with that cotton yarn. Did some broomstick lace with fine thread on a 3/8 dowel that I put a point on and a rubber band on the end to keep all from sliding off. Turned out nice. Have an idea for a small beaded purse that I am working on at the moment. Will start later.

I'm going to Southern California next month and am going to use the scraps of my DGD quilt to make her a pillow. It is made of minkee and is so soft and luxurious. I know she will like it.

I am working on cleaning up my craft area...organizing for the new year. I do this every year...just to re-aquaint myself with my inventory...and also, to start fresh and tidy.
My current projects are Heart Shaped Yo-Yo's, Altered Spoons, a Dotee Doll, New larger Knit Washclothes, and Mail-Art. Plenty to keep me busy! lol

Happy New Year Girls...
FOR 2012:
Love Yourself More. Love Others More. Live Better - choose Joy. Live Honestly. Be Grateful - for everything.
I am working on a headache which has nothing to do with New Years Eve and everything to do with my Fibro. Still sorting my crafting supplies. Will Take a few days more.
But today I choose not to focus on anything but GRATEFULNESS and ANTICIPATION!

The New Year lies before you, like a spotless tract of snow, be careful how you tread on it, for every mark will show...
Spending my day marking out my trail for the coming year. Will try to tread lightly and leave only grateful footprints.

I am busy working on the picture boards for Mom and my husband Dave's memorial services. We decided to have them on seperate days. Dave will be on Friday, Jan. 6th and Mom's will be on Saturday, Jan. 7th. I will be so relieved when we are past this week=end. All the memories are flooding back to me and it's very hard right now. I have gone back to work a bit to keep me focused elsewhere but as the time approaches I'm really freaking out. May God give me the strength to get through this. My daughters and sisters are being so supportive, as are friends. I really haven't had a time to be alone to grieve.
OK, I'm ready-Let's go. |

My son is moving back in for 6 months or so and we are spending the day moving my sewing room to the small guest room so he can have a bit of privacy in the big bedroom in the basement. It's actually been a good thing for me, I am decluttering! YEAH!!! I have found several projects that I didnt finish and have made a vow to finish up everything before starting something new. Exception being a new curtains for the son's room, throw pillows and a duvet cover for his bed. I also threw some ingredients in the bread machine for a quick fix for lunch. I'm thinking home made turkey soup from the pantry with fresh bread sounds yummy!

Susan, Many prayers for you this weekend. CJ, Love the bottle aprons. I don't have the patience to work "small". Julie, The sock monkey hat was a huge hit at Christmas. Made more Christmas gifts which I didn't get to post before. Reversible placemats and appliqued napkins for my son and his girlfriend and adult "bibs" for my in-laws. Next on my project list is a Kindle sleeve for my sister and "pogies" for my college daughter. What are "pogies"? Covers for hands and oars for crew! Dianne in the Hudson Valley

Dianne, Love your projects! I've been asked to make adult "bibs" to sell at Farmers Market . . perhaps I'll do that. Those little aprons, while kinda fun, were a bit tedious!
TODAY: finished altered spoon for Valentine spoon swap. I think it's gorgeous, but I can't post a pic until the swap happens. ATCs for the VALENTINE ATC swap . . .can't post those pics either.
BUT, I belong to another ATC swap group outside of the Connection and I just finished three sets for three different swaps.
This is for "Celebrating Women" . . . all three for this series were the identical
This is for "The Cowboy/Cowgirl Way" . . . this series were all totally different from each other, this is "Pink Cowgirl".
This is for "Buttoned Up" . . this series were all totally different from each other as well
This is for "Vintage Romance" . . this series were all totally different from each other too.
This little art pieces are fun and kind of addicting. Thanks for letting me share! CJ
