Don't feel bad; I can only crochet swiffer covers, dishrags, baby blankets, hats, and scarves. Anything that doesn't require paying attention and counting stitches. I want to learn granny squares.

Makes the black one look like a bear. Halloween costume? My cats would not put up with that.

Grace, I need to make those hair clips!! Did it have a pattern with the picture? That octopus pencil topper is so stinking cute too! That's an idea for my boys preschool teacher! Plus I would so make those for my dogs! One would freak out. The other wouldn't know what to do and would sit there frozen lol!
Judith, I definitely will share pictures! Since it's a Christmas present for my mom I need to keep it secret from her no share with you guys! Lol. Also you should definitely try granny squares they are very simple. And the basic design doesn't take make concentration. I made my sons blanket that way.

I almost forgot to share what I started last night! I am making dragon scale fingerless gloves for my brothers girlfriend for Christmas. I'm about half way done with the first glove. I think I need to make me a pair now!

Krista - love those fingerless gloves. Is it a free pattern you can share link to?
Grace - my Christmas decorations are centered around the red truck things. I’ll have to look for some of that fabric.

Grace, I got your email thank you! I am not even joking! If you ever head this way, let me know. I would love to sit down and help you with some new crochet techniques! I may not be an amazing teacher but I can sure try lol! I love your pillow. That is super cute!
Linda, yes it is. I found it on Pinterest. Let me get the link!
Sherone, you make me laugh! I thought the same thing when I first looked at it, but really the stitch is easy and it works up quickly.

The computer just ate my post so lets try again!
Krista - love the dragon mittens. What will the white be in the pillow?
Grace - love your pillow! You always find the best deals. I wish I could find some cotton yarn that cheap!
For those of you that only make dishcloths here's an easy thing to try next: Make you dishcloth big enough to go around your hand.
I used the double crochet stitch. Sew the sides together skipping a couple rows for the thumb hole:
They're a little big on me because they're a gift for someone else but you get the idea:

Since that worked lets try the rest...
To go with the mittens I made an extra long dishcloth and stitched the ends together:
I just double crocheted until it was long enough to go around my neck twice. Super easy and it doesn't matter if your stitches are a little uneven.

I forgot - when you make simple fingerless mittens you can embellish them. I made a pair a couple years ago for a Halloween swap. They were black and then I attached glittery orange pumpkin buttons on them.
It appears I made a jack o lantern dishcloth too LOL!

Love the colors in that yarn. That's kind of how I crochet. I've given up trying to follow a pattern; my mind wanders too much.

Heather, the white on my pillow will be a deer. Love all your crochet work. You have been busy. Plus I love how your patterns are so simple!
I decided to make some aromatherapy candles for friends for the upcoming holidays so I got my wax and wicks ordered yesterday. No I need to find some wax dye and pick out my essential oil. I'm not sure which one would smell the best. Do any of you have a suggestion?

Krista, soaps I make for winter holidays are scented with pine (my favorite) , cranberry, bayberry, and cinnamon. I think those scents would work well in candles too.

Love the pillows Grace - now all you need is a cup of hot cocoa, a couple cookies, and a good book!!!
Krista - I vote for cinnamon oil - my friend was diffusing some and I wondered what she was baking. It smelled wonderful. My favorite scent is Jasmine. I'm not a fan, but a lot of people also like lavender.

Judith, thank you for the suggestions. I love cranberry smells around the holidays. Cinnamon is a great suggestion too!
Grace, love your pillows! They turned out great.
Heather, cinnamon sounds popular. I like when candles smell like yummy baking. This would be a good choice!
