Today at our quilt club Carol George showed us how to color quilted sandwiches. I used crayons, oil paint crayons, and sharpies to outline.

Jamie, those ornaments are adorable!
It has been MONTHS since I have crocheted anything and I have really been missing it. Last night I found an adorable owl hat that I want to make for my little Everleigh for the coming winter. I got a few rows completed, but it feels amazing to be back at it. Once I finish the hat I'll move onto some Christmas presents. Not sure what I'm making for everyone yet lol!!

I'm really hoping I can get some time in the next few weeks to sit down and crank out some little projects I could possibly sell for Christmas stocking stuffers! I honestly could care less how much I get out of them, I just need to get rid of finish projects so I can make room for more! haha!

You make me laugh, Nikki! That's exactly how I feel. I always want to finish my projects so I can justify getting more. My poor craft room is a mess and it could really use some project finishing.

Who called the craft room police? I won't allow them in, ever! Craft rooms get messy on purpose! We're creating! No more whining now farmgirls.

Diana, those quilts are beautiful!
I am almost done with my crochet owl hat for my daughter. I should be finishing it today. I'm super excited to see it on her. Last night I redid the eyes. The first set I made was opened and I decided I wanted closed ones that showed eyelashes. It looked more feminine. I'm excited to show it off when it's completed.

Have any of you fellow crochet ladies done the cut and tie method? Is it complicated or fairly easy? I came across a blanket I want to make for my husband for Christmas, but it's the cut and tie method and I am trying to decide if I will have enough time to complete it in time. I haven't ever tried the cut and tie method.

One could change colors this way. I have seen several youtube videos on it. The big problem is that there will be numerous ends to weave into the work. I would recommend this method for an item that has a hidden inside the project such as a blanket, I would recommend this method.
https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=changing+yarn+in+crochet&view=detail&mid=CC73F400E2C97DCFBA31CC73F400E2C97DCFBA31&FORM=VIRE
It is quicker and less messy. I really dislike weaving ends into the work after I am finished. This method also works when changing colors in the middle of a row.
Hope this has helped.

I took a 3 day beginner's quilting class put on by the Mason County Quilt club. This is my Boho Girl quilt. I'll add filling and the back soon. The ladies were so nice that I decided to join the club!

Thank you Marie. I will check it out. I also am not a fan of weaving in ends. It's my least favorite part of crocheting.
Vanessa that is fantastic! You did such a wonderful job. I cant wait to see what other projects you make with your new club.
I finished Everleigh's new winter hat. I think she is pretty happy with it!

These are some of the clay pinch pots I made in August. A few had to be re glazed. I love the owl cap! Your little one will be warm and cute at the same time! Marie, the scarf looks great, I always drop stitches when I knit.

Looking great Marie.
Vanessa, your clay pots are pretty. I love the fall colors! And I believe I spot a pumpkin?

You bet! I fashioned a vine to curl around it. Some others made pumpkins with lids, too.

Krista - Absolutely LOVE the owl hat! How adorable!!!
Marie - That is a SCARF! Looks cozy!
Vanessa - I agree on how beautiful those colors are! Great job!
I've been working on a few different things - only thing I've finished though is a group of 24 treat bags for DS's class treat at their Halloween party this year.
Glad to have that done! |

Jamie, those are stinking cute! The kids are going to love them.
You got it Grace. Some days the craftiness is just on vacation! Like mine most of the time.
I will be finishing my second winter hat today. A friend asked me to make her boy a minion one. All I need to do is sew the eyes on!

Krista,, I need to come visit you,, then maybe you could get me to hunker down and learn how to crochet things,, other than simple dish rags.. lol! I am going to work on a 'round Loom' to crochet a beanie hat for a dear lady who will be starting Chemo next week... I like to use 2 strands of yarn on the Loom to make the Beanie/hats thicker.

Made this little crochet flower during lunch today. Notice the Mary Jane calendar in the back ground?

Grace, I would love that! I think we would have a blast with each other! Plus it would be fun to show you something new! I can't wait to see your beanie. Crochet and knit beanies are very important to those who go through chemo. Plus it has extra special meaning cause you made it.
Nancy, your flower is super cute. Did you just hook it to a clip?
