Hello everyone - I've been working on an apron - one of mary jane's patterns - the christmas one with the long ties - that tie in the front. Well, after agonizing over fabric at the quilt shop for an hour - I started it this afternoon. It is screaming for some trim. two of my fabrics look too similar. I think I can put some embroidery on the middle ruffle to jazz it up some. judy from Kansas

These are the boxes I was working on yesterday. I still have sanding to do before the final finish is put on.

Diana, I love your quilts. I have done some quilting in the past but it isn't my forte. My box designs are based on quilt designs though as I thought they would appeal to the quilters out there.

WOW!!!! Such talent among us!!! The pictures are awesome, you ladies please take a bow to the applause!!!

I am so happy to know many of you are working on aprons. They are quickly becoming the "in thing" and the more the merrier!! I hope when you are finished, you will post pictures for us to see

For those working on dish rags, please post your pictures too!!! Something I had never used before I joined here. Now I understand why they all of you make them after receiving some as gifts. A dish rag has a million and one uses for sure!!

What talent we have within our farmgirls! Everyone does such a beautiful job on their projects. I'm starting my bookmark for the swap and working on pot holders also for the swap. Then I need to take some time and organize my sewing room.
Keep posting pictures, I really love seeing everything your doing.

I am working on a tote bag for my daughter to use when she is transporting animals around. She rescues mostly rats but other things. (Pet rats not the wild kind). She found some Three Blind Mice fabric and I am working on a tote bag with lots of pockets. I am also working on a crochet purse for my merit badge and am knitting a rug out of hay string for the back porch. When I run into a snag on one I just switch to something else.

I just finished a lined ruffled apron that has been sitting for way too long on the sewing table. Then I lined and put the finishing touches on some hand stitch calendars - Yes, I know a bit late but at least it is not August....

I have finished spinning two new yarns that will go onto my Etsy shop hopefully today. I had the dye pots going very early this morning because I am Kidding watch so I only get to sleep for about two hours during the night time - so dye pots keep the house warm and get products done.

Inbetween going to the barn to check on the girls during this snow storm I will be working at the big carding machine - 16 pounds of dyed alpaca, mohair and silk is dry now so it is time to get to work.

Love hearing what everyone is doing - it give me energy to keep going.

Kim, here is the picture of the fairy cottage. It's made out of an oatmeal container, covered with bark, etc.

Hi Juanita - great to have you here. I know what you mean about UFO's - I have my fair share of them too. My problem is that once I set something down for very long it's so difficult to pick it up again. I ran across a sweater that I started almost two years ago but I think I'm just going to rip that one out and start over. I think it's great that you saved your mom's stuff. I inherited a lot of misc. sewing things from my mom. I love the vintage buttons she had thrown in a tin. She always made it a practice to cut the buttons off of things before she got rid of them. What a heap of memories going through that button box. What kind of quilt are you making? Is it a crazy quilt?

Frannie I LOVE your painted rocks. What a cool idea. Are the rocks polished before you paint them? I also love your stuffed bunnies. It's so neat to see what a variety of projects that everyone is working on.

Sheri:
Your little bark house is wonderful. Did anyone see the Christmas special about the miniature trains display at the botannical gardens in New York City? They used bark, twigs, all natural items to make replicas of mansions, sky scrapers and other buildings for the train display. Made me want to walk out my back door to the woods and see what materials I could find.

Thanks for all the compliments on my work. Yes, I did catch that program. When I was a little girl I was always building little villages out in the woods made out of sticks and shrubs and rocks etc. I grew up in Lake Tahoe and playing in the woods was all I did. I thought it would be fun to build a "big girl" version of the houses I made as a kid.
