I was inspired to making sprouts by Mary Janes Book. I happen to have had lentils in the house, so did it with them. Today is day three and
they have their "sprouts" - little white stems. Her book said to put them into the fridge at this point - will they turn green at the top in the fridge or, am i supposed to leave them out or put in a window so they get green growth? I'd like for them to look like the kind you buy?

Also, what kinds of things have you sprouted?

If anyone can help with this, that would be great.

My youngest daughter and I always keep a jar of sprouts going..right now a mix of lentil, alfalfa, mung bean and radish..they are spicey and yummy..the last of them will go in a salad tonight. We keep our jar on the kitchen counter and rinse the sprouts several times a day with cool water..works great. They get green growth doing that for sure. Don't have to be in the sunshine..just get enough light. My favorite sprouts are sunflower sprouts. Haven't done them myself but have bought them at an herb shop near here...she does them. I wish I had the seed to do some..they are sweet and yummy.
