I just got done listening to the unabridged version of Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. I really got into the story and bonded with the characters. Now I have started listening to Dragonfly in Amber and I am wondering-am I going to be disappointed? I didn't really bond with the character of her first husband so I am caught up wondering what happened to Jamie?! Any others want to let me know if they enjoyed the second book as much or ???

Thanks!

You will love it. It pretty much picks up where the other book ended, and is a fabulous telling of the '45 up until Culloden.

I am a bit worried that this is going to be one of those things that I am not going to like it one way or another! LOL I am sure the story is great but I was hoping she would have stayed with Jamie the whole time.

Alee--if we told you, you wouldn't need to read the books! I have read and thoroughly enjoyed all of Diana's books, even the Outlandish Companion.

I am listening to it and am enjoying it- I am to the point where the ship just got burned in the harbor because of small pox. I must say the bboks are making me smile at my Scottish heritage and will it sound totally silly but hearing/reading about the industry of the goodwives of Scotland makes me work that extra bit harder on my house? The windows are all open right now and the house heat is off. My house is smelling so good from the fresh air. I think I am going to do this more often!!

Must be me. But I never really enjoyed the Outlander books duh. I have read the first one (forgot the title) and just didn't "get into it" sorry

Just keep listening, it helps the story that she goes back to Frank, but don't worry Jamie is still in her future. Just stick with it. It must be real warm there if the heat is off and your windows are open now.
