What remedies do you all suggest for nighttime congestion? I don't seem to have any during the day, or at least it is tolerable, but when I am prone, the congestion congests!! And there is a lot of "hawking" in the morning. Ick.

Elevate the top of your bed or sleep in a more sitting up posture?
It will help to drain naturally and lots of humidity.
LOTS OF WATER!!!!!!!

Try a nasal rinse, like the Neti-Pot (http://www.neilmed.com/can/index.php) twice a day - once in the morning & about an hour before bed. Works wonderfully, in my opinion. I've been using it for 2 months now & my nose isn't near as stuffy as it used to be. I work in a daycare w/ 2 year olds, and I'm sure you all know how good 2 year olds are about sharing their germs & runny noses. That's the only thing I can think of.

Are you using a hypoalergenic pillow? Also, change your pillow slip every night. I suffer from seasonal allergies and all the "stuff" that acculmulates in my hair during the day, ends up on my pillow case at night and hence onto my face. That might help.

A teaspoon of honey before you go to bed helps with the hacks. My kids have the same thing. Fine and normal all day long but come night time, they sound like they are ready to give up a lung. So painful to hear and I am sure painful to cough too!
I just started with a vaporizer last night. Helped tons!
Hope you start feeling better
