I am a needle tatter too! I just taught a couple co workers how to tat and shared some of my needles around too! They are all very excited!
One thing I splurged on last year was a book about so called Celtic Tatting- it isn't so much different but patterns that could be considered Celtic it's neat and I want to practice and get better at it. I think a tatted butterfly would be really neat (which is in the book as well)
I got the book from Hobby Lobby-
And of course I love the pattern's in Maryjane's Stitching Room book! That book is on my desk at work since I have lots of opportunity to do crafts!
Alee that is awesome I got that book for Christmas and have not been able to figure it out maybe you can help> I would love to exchange hearts what do you think????
Sounds good! Let's exchange the Celtic Heart! I need to pick up some new crochet thread. once I get one to turn out I will see if I can do some better instructions- that book relies really heavily on pictures which can be hard sometimes. :(
I have tried that Celtic one and cant get it too look rite so I did one that I found on a flyer at hobby lobby with Lizthread so I will use that one is that ok??? I love the earring that was made with the ring I have always loved those and will learn to do it with needle. This is so exciting to find other tatters.
Sounds good Betty Jo! Check out the tatting thread in the Stitching Room- I posted a picture of the Celtic Heart that I did today! It's not perfect but it's getting better! I did another one this afternoon with crochet thread that looked a lot neater. :D
Hi Alee and BettyJoe, I'm not a tatter but have always wanted to try. I did one time and just couldn't get anywhere. But I wanted to comment on your daughter's designs. They are beautiful! What a talent. I'll check back from time to time so I can see your wonderful work. Enjoy and Blessings, Brenda
Brenda- check out the Tatting thread in the Stitching room if you would like some help learning how to tat! There are several of us tatters chatting it up there and I bet we could help!
Thanks Alee, I'm heading there right now. Just go home from the pain dr. and he's sending me to a back surgeon. So if I decide that is what I need to do, tatting will be nice for the recovery time. Looking forward to learning it.
