My poor neck and shoulder have been in terrible pain since 2008 when I had my car accident. I've been sewing on my dining room table which was higher than waist level. As I was sitting sewing the other day, my DH noticed my reaching up and said, my goodness no wonder your neck and shoulder keep hurting you. So, today he is making my very own sewing table. My Dad had given us a table top years ago that's been in the backroom collecting dust. Well, not any longer, that 40x30 table top is now on it's way to becoming my new sewing place. Yeah!!!! I'll put up a pic on my blog when it is finished.

That’s awesome! An ergonomic chair might help you also.
I understand how you feel. I had a car accident in 2004 and I still have pain issues. I have to be careful not to lift heavy things or move my arms a certain way. I figured out how to do most of the yard work by myself. It takes me 3 days to cut the lawn and I make tons of trips back and forth with a plastic wheel barrel. My neighbors must think I’m crazy but it works for me.
The more I DIY the more self sufficient I become. www.cheerfulsimplicity.blogspot.com/ |

Thanks Sandy, I'll look into those. Speaking of moving your arms a certain way. Yikes! My left one I can't even lift it straight up anymore. And if I move to fast, forget it the neck locks and the pain is undescribeable.

How sweet of your hubby. Please post a picture when he gets it finished. Hope it makes sewing more pleasant for you.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things. Robert Brault |

You lucky lucky girl! I've been longing for a table that I can devote to sewing... |
