We get our eggs from friends who have a farm. Can't have chickens at our place. Every so often we notice something: when first crackedm what does it mean when the whites of the eggs have an faint lime-ish cast to them? They don't smell bad or anything...is the egg bad or is it just one those weird things? I was always told that if an egg is bad, it will smell bad...but I thought I would bring the question those farmgirls who have their own chickens. I'm still just a wannabe!

I've never seen it in ant of our eggs either. My guess is that it would be from something the chickens are eating. I dunno??

I would agree it is probably from something they are eating. When my parents raised laying hens, if they got green onion tops that would change the color of the whites.
I'd ask about that . .
