I've been reading this book for a few weeks and so far so good. It's a true story. I'm sure someone has posted about the book before but I just joined today. It's about a young couple and their son that give everything up that was not invented in the year 1900 for one year. I think I would make it for about a week. I would be okay with not have modern conveniences but the hard work would be tough.

Happy Reading, Tina

Never heard of the book, but definitely sounds like one I'd like to read. :)

Sounds interesting, Tina. Who wrote it? It reminds me of those PBS shows that had families living in different eras for a month or two.

It was really good. I just finished it too. Authors name is Logan Ward. I sent it on to another farmgirl (Suzy in alabama) It was especially fun to read since they had NO experience with any of the things they were to do for that year. They really had to learn "on the job". I would sure recomend it!

Jenny, did you go on their website? There are a few pictures to view. I must say I was thinking of a much smaller more run down looking place. The farm is just breath taking or I think so.

Jenny, I just took a visit over to your blog and love the main picture of the chickens. I just stared at it. They are so colorful and beautiful.

I only have about 30 pages left in this book...and I think I'm gonna cry when they head back to civilization!! This is a fantastic book. All my husband has heard for the last week is "That book I'm reading is sooo good. I mean soooooo good." It really makes you think about how we live now. Not in the wasteful sense necessarily, but more like certain ways that you wouldn't know we have changed because they are so normal to us. More like attitudes and beliefs and ways we look at people and what we expect. Great book. Did I mention I love the book?? ;)

I finished this book last week - hated for it to end! A very good diary of a year in the life...and I loved how he said the book got it's title.
