A dear friend of mine has taken a rapid turn for the worse in his battle against lymphoma. A couple of us are going to visit him today after work, but it feels so much like a "good-bye" visit. His children have been called home and the prognosis is grim. Please keep his family in your thoughts.....

Oh Kelly, that is so tragic. I'm so sorry. I will be thinking about him and wishing him a peaceful passing. His family are also in my thoughts. It's so hard to say good bye to some one you care about.

I'm so sorry to hear that, Kelly. It is so hard to watch someone you care about slip away slowly. Keeping you and the family in my thoughts.

Kelly my thoughts and prayers are with you and your friend. Having to deal with a loss is difficult for us, however your friend is being set free to another world of peace. I will pray that he may have a peaceful transition to a greater place.

I know how you feel. My husband older sister is also dieing of leukemia. It is a fatal form and they are only giving her a few months at a time before she too will pass. My advise is to go and see him as much as possible. I mean if he is not feeling up to visits it's hard but keep him in your prayers. My husband's sister has been in the hospital since the first of September and can't go home due to her condition. My husband calls her every week. Most calls last only minutes as she is very weak but she waits each week for his calls. It might be a lot but it seems to keep her going. She lives outside of the state of Montana so to see her often is not possible.

My visit today was very difficult. He wasn't alert, but his wife (and me too) are sure that he could still hear us. I am glad that I went, but it was hard to see a man who was once larger than life be so sick and slipping away. Thanks, girls, for letting me share my sorrow and for your words of comfort. I really appreciate you!

Kelly, it is so sad to watch someone whom you love and respect slide on over to the other side. Sometimes I think it's harder on the ones left behind. My 87 yr.old dad passed away in September. It was hard but peaceful. He loved his visits with his friends who could come over. Some only stayed 15 minutes but he was so glad they came and so were mom and I.
I'll be praying for all of you.

Hope all your days are Sunnydays.

Kelly, I do believe he knows you are there. See him as much as you can and I am sure his wife so much appreciates your visits to him and her. My heart is sad for you and your friends. I pray for all of you.

I'm sorry to learn of your friend's illness. I'm going in for removal of a lymph node tomorrow to find out what type of lymphoma I have to decide on the method of treatment. It's definitely scary. I'm going to be 68 next month and I'm still ready to live a long life. I have been told that lymphoma is easy to treat--probably not always the case.

Thank you ALL for your kind words of support. My friend slipped quietly away in the presence of his family. His service is tomorrow...with all the Irish traditions he so loved. He will be missed.
