YUM! I just made the best black eyed peas and corn bread ever! The black eyed peas are spicy ... that's how I like 'em! Tony chachere's... and hot sauce...and cilantro .... guess I'm just a mixture of Louisiane and Texan!

We just finished our southern New Year's Day traditional meal of blackeyed peas, rice and corn bread too. Cooked the peas with a nice ham bone. Cooked some collards also. Yummmmm enough for tomorrow also...

I guess all you farmgirls know if you eat blackeyed peas on New Years you will have good luck all year long, right???? I thought you knew!! I have a stepson, his wife and two little grandkids here for the wknd., we had a late lunch, so we've just been snacking for supper, spinach dip, bread for the dip, guacamole, chips, leftover munchies from Christmas. Not so healthy but kinda fun!!

I also fixed blackeyed peas. Cooked with a ham bone and spices. Had rice to. Yummy. Laurie
