would love to see some photos and descriptions of what you are all doing with your 'gardens' .. how are you decorating? what are you planting? what's peeking it's little head through the ground or bursting forth with color this April month?

i got a new camera and am trying to figure out how to get photos in e-mails with it .. will be posting lots of pictures to my Kentucky Ramblers .. will try and post a few here on the forum too (it's so much faster via e-mail .. so i send most of them that way). if you are not on my Kentucky Ramblings list .. but would like to be .. jus' e-mail me at: CabinCreekFarm--KY@starband.net

Hello Farmgirls!

Well I love April, where I live it can still snow, but so far just rain. It rained all night last night, sounds so lovely.

After Frannies post I took a walk around my 'garden'. Not too much happening. Lots of weeds. I decided yesterday I would just take a section at a time, I don't like to feel overwhelmed. My wish list is HUGE for my garden. Too much to share really.

I gave a small bed along the house to the boys yesterday. Gave them about 10 packets of seeds and told them to go for it, They had a wonderful time. A true 'garden party'.

Here are pictures from around the home...
I pulled this red beauty out, now we're just waiting on nature to bring forth the apples!

The Bees were 'hummin' a sweet tune around this cherry tree yesterday, my youngest found the magnifying glass to 'study' these wonderful creatures.

How I love Lilac, I have 6 alltogether around our place, can't wait to bring some blooms indoors.

Last year I let my youngest pick a few plants from the local nursery here were his choices, 'snow in summer' and 'lambs ear'

A little yarrow anyone?

A type of geranium ground cover peeking through.

Twisty baby locust, before picture (today)
I 'heart' gardening!

Yesterdays glove left in rain all night.

Can't wait for warmer weather!

sue .. i just got a new digital camera .. i'm loving it .. and it was suggested to me by a professional photographer ... CANON Power Shot SD550. i got mine at best buy for $400. .. i think they can be found 'on-line' for cheaper though .. but i was just tooooo excited to get it to carry around with me. i really do like my big olde bulky Sony Mavica .. but it uses floppy disks and you can only get about 20 pics per disk then you have to change it .. not to mention drag all this paraphenalia around with you.

The teeeeeeeensy little chippy thing i got with my Sony was about $80. but you can get several hundred pics on it .. and you can use it over and over again!

I have been wanting to post to this topic for a bit, but have been waiting to get my hands on DH's digital camera. Was out in the yard for a good part of the day yesterday and decided to take a couple of photos of what is blooming right now.

First are some volunteer California poppies, all bright and orange.
[ ]
Next is my purple double Climatis.
[ ]
The other is the deep red climatis that is growing on my garden shed

Thanks for letting me share.
