OMGosh Yes!! And what about Antique Valentine Candy Boxes? My mom had quite a collection in her day. Where have all those creative-minded people gone? Now, you just get a cardboard box.

We could work on creating wonderful valentines and show them off...My goodness, my grandma was a card designer during the WWII era...lets not let this beautiful art die out! Recruiting Valentine makers everywhere!...We can send them then, as we like, or merely show them off =) and all enjoy them.

Your grandma was? Wow! I'll bet you could create some pretty nice ones then. Do you have a lot of her old ones around?

I love them too, Annika! I was just thinking the other day that it would be fun to make a couple old fashioned Valentines!

Have you girls seen the thread by Junebug (Sue) under Barter? It is a homemade Valentine's card swap. Please join us if you have the time to make one for each who signs up. There are sample pics posted from previous years too.

Have a good day!

I'd love to make some but I'd need a "how to" or some photos to get me started. I'd need some Valentine inspiration.

Me too. They are beautiful to look at but hard to figure out how to create and still look old fashion.

i thought I'd share my story since it kind of relates to this topic.... when DH and I were tearing down part of the wall to expand the kitchen doorway, we found a vintage Christmas and Valentine card inside the wall. From the design, it looked to have been made in the 50's? (our house was built in 1916). I thought it was very interesting to find such things inside the wall itself... i've heard many similar stories, but have never discovered why people did this... but that should be a question posed on another topic board.

Come on girls, get your craft on and join us in the swap, head over to the barter page for full details. All you do is make a card, you can even cheat and buy the blank cards/envelopes and just decorate them, download a sweet image from Lisa's great blog and paste it on and add a note, that easy! All are welcome, sign up by the 10th. Hope to see you there!
