My DH is greatly encouraging me to start a Fabric/whatever shop...he said he will build me a new house and our old one(a single wide) can be the store...I also have a greenhouse and he wants me to add that to the "for sale' products....
We make all of our own clothes, so most of my clientelle will be those of use who do that, but, in the spring/summer, the public also....
He wants me to carry splatterware and country/primitive things
A friend of mine has "Bella Amore" a website that makes gift baskets...she wants to put them in my store....also, he wants me to get a website..
LOTS happening at our end of the woods.....
Merry Christmas.....

You are so fortunate that your dh supports you in you in your venture. My dh doesn't really support completely. He has helped me by having shelves made for my fabrics, but that is the extent of it.

Check for local laws that might affect your plans. Are there zoning requirements, licenses required? Before you get too far in your plans be sure you don't have road blocks to fight or if you do check how to get around them. Its better to know what you are dealing with and go from there.
The plans sound exciting especially when you are in this together!

Do you have a local paper you could put an ad in to let the town know about your new business? Also, start talking to friends and neighbors and get their feedback on what they are looking for. That is from an article I was reading recently about starting a home based business. I'm going to plant a garden in the spring and sell the extra's to my neighbors. It takes getting the word out and nerve.

Best to you,
Marsha

This is just great. Something I've always wanted to do. But financially have never been able to. I'd love to open a small Christian book store with little hand made items. Off to the side have a little coffee spot set up in Victorian style and a little play area to the side for the little ones. But if we can't dream, what else is there. My prayer's have led me elsewhere. But do enjoy and I'm sure you will do great, especially with you DH beside you
