Last evening when I was leaving the stable after working Tala (We are in training for the show season), and as I was leaving the stable yard, I took a turn either a mite too wide or maybe a little to fast (I wasn't going fast at all- maybe 5-10 miles per hour max) and I slid right off the road. Luckily it is a private road so there is no ditch or anything, but the road is more raised than the side of the road. The Barn manager tried to tow me out out but her truck wasn't getting any purchase either. SO I am going to have to go out later today and the stable guys are going to get the tractor and tow me out! How embarassing!!

Thankfully, Alee, you are okay! Remember, we all do embarassing things once in a while. Don't sweat the small stuff. LOL.

I have studded tires on my truck so it gives extra traction

I was born and raised in snow and ice, and I still have done a 360 or two, lol. I usually worry more about the other drivers on the road, cause all it has to do here is sprinkle and people lose all sense and there are wrecks galore.

If it had to happen anywhere, those sound like the best possible circumstances. Is this the first winter you've had the car (or first winter in this town)? Maybe you'll have to make some adjustments to your tires, or just watch out more for certain circumstances.

Nope it isn't the first winter with the car, nor the first winter in this town/area. We actually grew up 3 hours south of here and spent the winter here last year. This particular car is just big, heavy and powerful in addition to being rear wheel drive. So sometimes not the best combo.

Luckily the Stable Hand was able to get the car out. He actually dumped a load of gravel on the turn and towed her right out. Now the corner isn't slippery anymore which is great. I love my stable. They are the best ever! The barn manager brought me home last night and then came and got me this morning!
