Trying to get as many goodies done for teacher gifts as possible. We made 8 loaves of Amish bread, chocolate fudge, gumdrop fudge, candy cane bark and spiced nuts. I was also making ox tails for soup for tomorrow. In my haste and extreme fatigue - I forgot to put the ox tails in the fridge over night. I'm so angry with myself.

At least I have the teacher gifts done.

Busy girl you have been Deb, dont feel to bad about the ox tails I cant tell you how many times I have gotten up and realized I left something out too. Everything sounds so delish. The Amish bread you make is it wheat? Thats my favorite kind with the Amish peanut butter, oh its just grand! Hope you have a great day despite the ox tails! Blessings,Karen

Deb, you sound like me. I have left stuff out many times. I have some ox tails too. I need to do something with them. Maybe a soup next week. I also baked cookies yesterday. You seem to be pretty much stocked up for awhile. Doesn't it feel good?

I bet it smelled great your house! No wonder you were so worn out you forgot about the oxtails. I'm sure the teachers will love their gifts!

Teachers were pleased. Especially the male teacher - loved the gumdrop fudge.

Oh, we also made melt & pour soaps. Forgot about that. Easy, the girls love making those for gifts.

I made up for my ox tail blunder and surprised the family with posole. Yummy!

Gumdrop fudge: http://www.tasteofhome.com/Recipes/Gumdrop-Fudge

Posole is a Hispanic stew, I suppose. Pork, hominy, ancho chile, adobo seasoning. Nice on a cold winters night. My family loves it. Served with tortillas, onions & sour cream. (that's the way we do it - not being Hispanic.)
