Why can't I get 7 regular canning jars in my canner? I can get 7 wide mouth in there. I can also get 3 wide and 4 regular. That is beyond strange to me. And frustrating. I wanted to use regular jars to can this beef broth.

Anyone else have this dilema?

Kris

I have this problem and only when I push them out to the sides do they fit. Seems the brackets for each are wider towards the outsides.

God is good....all the time.

Ok, hubby figured it out. He's so smart. What a man! I love it when he does this. Makes him feel so manly when he helps me. But you are right, Denise.

The sides of the regular jars are rounder. The wide mouth are straighter and sort of squared. I put the bottoms together and could see the difference. But it sure is annoying when I want to get 7 jars in a canner and can't. So I have to use both, which is ok. But I like my wide mouth jars for things that are harder to get in, like green beans.

Broth is in the canner now. No busted ones so far. That always scares me when I first put the jars into the hot water. I have busted some right away. So sad.
