Hubby has a nice fire going in the wood stove so I'm going to put a pot of the tomato 'juice' on there to cook down.
We learned on the last batch that since we're keeping it hotter in here, must watch the batch closer. You'd think that would be a given but honestly, we didn't think about it.
So, will let you know how it goes!! ![](icons/icon_smile_tongue.gif)

Winona- You should invest in a trivit, It will give you a little more peace of mind. I have two wood stoves(one is a cook stove) that are always used for cooking. When I am cooking something that has a tendancy to scorch or burn I use the trivit as a buffer between the stove and pot, it works great. In fact I know a lady (up there in age) and she has a very old trivit and uses everytime she cooks soup on her electric stove, she never has burnt soup! Make sure you get a cast iron one, I think target carries them and I know Lodge carries them. Hope your tomatos work this time.

Thank you for the advice but I do use a trivet. It's a very old one also. BUT, as you can see from my previous posts, I'm kinda not so good a cook and seem to learn by making boo-boos!! I will say, that once I have something down, it's stuck in my noggin or written down and pretty well fool-proof. :-)
