Well, my knees are tired . . . but on them I am and on them I will stay!!!! Figurative speech, of course, about praying . . .
This week has been quieter and I'm just praying for the Spirit to work in the heart of our son-in-law! I also pray for the Spirit to give my daughter HUGE measures of wisdom and patience . . . and the ability to bite her tongue.
Thank you for your prayers . . . I cherish continued prayers because this is a rough one!!!

CJ I will keep your family in your prayers Your daughter needs to understand that she is not failing anyone if she leaves. She needs to be safe. I left a previous thing for my children, so they would not grow up seeing me afraid or thinking that is the way to treat someone. God does not want us in those kind of places.
It would be nice if he could see what he is but nothing will change when people don't honestly acknowledge the problem. There is nothing wrong with asking for help, does not make a person a weakling either, in fact often they will gain respect by admitting they need help. We all do at some time. My concern is for your daughters safely.
I will pray for you all though as CJ imagine you are quite worn out!!

CJ, I am so sorry this is happening for Robin, I know how it is to be in a relationship and know you need to leave but dont feel like you can for whatever reason. I am praying for all involved, I know how it hurts you too. You will continue to be in my prayers. Blessings,Karen

ceejay, I have no idea how I have missed this thread. I will be praying right along with all our other Farmgirl sisters....however will not be on my knees (have to call 911 to get me up!!). I truly hope things will work out for your DD, remember, god works in mysterious ways, and never gives us more than we can deal with. Easy words to say, but please know my thoughts and prayers are with you continually!!

Prayer is a wonderful thing of that there is no doubt. But along with prayer a lot of times we have to do some of the hard work too. If your daughter is afraid for herself, then she should leave. Period. Remember God gave us free will, and wants us to use it. Also along with all the usual helpful quotes from God or the bible, I believe there is one that is overlooked a lot. That is God helps those who help themselves. I guess I sound harsh, and believe me I do not mean to be. But, I am a tell it like it is woman. The bottom line is she needs to leave. The chances that he will all of a sudden change into a wonderful person are pretty much slim to none. He doesn't help himself with counseling, he doesn't make any continuous effort to change. If he is violent or has a horrible temper, sooner ot later someone is going to get hurt or worse.This has been going on for a long time. I hope your daughter realizes some of these things and gets out before something bad happens. Your family is in my good thoughts and prayers.

Thanks girls! I hear you and understand . . . and agree.
We are trying to support and encourage along with help her face the reality of things. We can't make her decisions for her nor can we make her take any particular action. But she does listen to us . . . and we are trying to be very wise in all of this.

Most important don't let her blame herself, she is the victim in this situation. None of us are perfect but that doesn't allow for someone to hurt us at any point. If she makes this decision someone may need to go with her to get her things as it may push him over when he realizes she is leaving. Don't mean to scare you CJ but thinking of her protection and yours. She has a bunch of us out here praying for her and husband but right now mainly for her safety and strength to do what she needs to do. Some of us have walked her shoes as well.

Found out kids are not there this weekend . . . something going on with their mom's family. So, there is that reprieve. I do pray for time for son-in-law to PAY ATTENTION . . .

My heart goes out for you and your daughter and SIL along with my prayers. You are in a very difficult situation! But the Lord hears you and will give you the answer in his time. Stay on those knees my dear sister, as we will also be doing. And Carol my prayers are going out for you and your daughter also. This has to be terrible as a mother to see our daughters dealing with this. But with pray comes miracles. Take care of youselves during this time. Your daughters need you.

Things have been more peaceful as of late and I'm grateful.
Issues with his daughter (step daughter for my daughter) are being addressed and that seems to be helping all around.
So, please continue to pray that things with this young lady will be dealt with honestly and with tough love. And that this will help them both see through the muck and my son-in-law see . . . and understand . . . his part in the situation.

Thank you all for your prayers! Please keep doing it! Things have been going in the right direction! My DH and I are part of a lifegroup through our church that is specifically for blended families. We've been with them for about 2 years. This is a group where we all know quite a bit about each other and they have known about and been praying about the same as you. A couple of weeks ago, the topic of the words we speak to our spouses came up! So very needed...he listened and heard and has responded in a very positive manner! So keep right on praying like there's no tomorrow! And for the stepdaughter...I think she'll have to hit bottom before she gets out of her stuff! Keep praying for her too! Thank you all!

Bonnie, I truely understand what you are going through, I've been there. Is this the first time for getting the shots in your back? Try to ease the stress, I was so afried the first time and just about didn't go. There is some disconfort but near what you may imagine. The more at ease that you can stay helps alot. I am sending prayers out that you will find some releave tomorrow. You'll be in my prayer's.
