Yes, this is a link. When I put in that word I got something from a Norske book company. Try it and see what you get!

So Dawn I just see a referance to the name of the book and year but of course, no explanation in english. Does this look like German to you then? I sort of get that this is Psalms. Anyone else have any ideas?

It's Norwegian. Very similar to Danish (written). Christiania is the old name for Oslo.
I took Norwegian at University many moons ago.... It's a Psalm Book.

Wow, ladies, all I had to do was leave it for the Farmgirls to figure out!!! Thanks so much! Not what I was told it was...Hebrew bible. But Norwegian psalms. Cool. Sure is old, huh? Thanks for your quick research. I know how to search for things but after I find the list, well, that's another story. lol

Karen~ I LOVE old books, you have yourself a treasure

Carol ~ Sadly I don't. I'm just a language putterer...I love language and can say a few words in about a dozen languages, and can puzzle things out in other languages but I'm all self taught and not 100% fluent in anything other then my own eccentric blend of English
I lived in Germany when I was a wee thing and remember a bit of it, enough to sing Christmas carols...that you for asking

I bought it years ago in an antique shop. It was marked $100 but I did not pay that....not sure what I paid.. I might put it on ebay. It also has a handwritten note in the back of the book, a dedication to someone. It was a gift, I suppose. I bet the family would love to have it. Bummer.
