Have ya'll seen the new skirt material at wally world? It's called "Insta-Skirt", it's layered material, all you do is get the amount you need to go 'round your waist and then seam up the one side and "voila" you have a layered prairie skirt! I'm addicted!

My goodness you ladies were up early today. I have seen the "insta-skirt". Have looked @ it twice now. Being a really frugal person I'm trying to deciede if it would be cheaper to make it. So far I'm thinking I'm gonna try it. It sure will save time.

Hello,
It's funny how fashion go out and come back. Now I'm going to date myself but we had the same fabric in the 80's I believe. They even made it longer so you could wear it as a sunny dress with thin straps. It's great, easy to use and OH so comfortable.

Pray for our troops to come home safe and soon.
Enjoying the road to the simple life :>)

Yep, the elastic is already in it...I just had the lady that was working back there "wrap" it around me so I'd know how much I'd need and she cut it right where I needed for my waist. Gotta love it!

I found mine at Wal-mart in Florida, and it was a total impulse buy, asI had never seen it before. I have some nice white eyelet insta-skirt material. I love it!! It would work as a wrap around if you attached ribbon to it and fininshed of the edges without connecting them. I think that I will put some sparkly sequins on it as well and be fashionable.

this actually sounds like the stuff my mother used when I was a little girl in the 70's I assume it is a strait piece of fabric and at the top it has lots of elastic thread running through out to sort of make it look smocked is this correct. If so that is just too funny. This is what my summer sun dresses where made out of when I was about 5 or 6. with spaghetti strapes and the left overs from the child size can be used for quilts or the popular yo yo I have see on the sight here. p.s silk works great for yo-yos very elegant rich in color and drape

have a lovely day
