with temps going into the teens at night and 30s during the day and having only about 9 hours of daylight, at 4 2/4 months old hubby has found 2 eggs in the pullet house! i am going to have to check their house several times a day or lose a lot of eggs! we have around 20 pullets. our hens have either taken to new hiding places or they are not laying as much of late. the hens that i have now didnt start laying until about 6 months old and the temps were staying sub zero and with zero light in their house! geesh these alaskan chikcen sure act different! peace connie in alaska

Thats amazing that they are laying in such cold tempatures. Thats really cool !! You will just have to keep up on the collecting or you will have frozen eggs ready for the freezer....lol.

I misread this as : the bullets have been laying, and I couldn't imagine what it meant, much better that it is the pullets.
