I caught a little thief red-handed...err...red-pawed. A fat squirrel is stealing my flower bulbs that I planted for the spring. He was so brazen that he just sat there, paw in mid-dig, watching me walk up to him with an expression of "yeah, what are you going to do about it, sister". He finally moved off when I came close enough, but only just out of reach. I'm sure he went back to his pilfering ways when I left.

Guess I'm off to the store for more bulbs!

They have moved mine (what they don't steal) from the flower bed to the open area behind it. Every spring nothing in the bed, beautiful bulbs in the weeds. Nice little helpers hugh?

Warm Wishes

this happened to us one year after planting nearly 1,000 bulbs..the daggum squirrels stole almost every one of them and chowed down. They love gladiola bulbs, daffodil bulbs, tulip bulbs and well..you get the picture..they are ornery little buggers.

Make little cages out of small holed chicken wire, plant your bulbs in them , then plant the cages. I have done this for years and has protected mine from squierrls, rabits, chipmunks etc.

Thanks for the big grin on my face after reading this...I can picture it all and I love it! Be sure to buy extra bulbs, he probably has relatives coming and would like to entertain them properly...Debbie
