I just got DSL! I don't even know what that means but I got it! It's so amazing. I never even knew how fun this could be. I can watch videos now! I have watched the e-trade baby commercials over and over. I didn't know there were so many of them. I love it. I have been looking at everyones blogs, too. With dial-up I could go clean the house or fix dinner and come back to check on the progress of a picture and it might be half way done. But now, Boom! There they are, pictures and all. Amazing! Click and boom! There's a picture. Man, I am having so much fun. I even got to hear Kris from American Idol sing his new song. Someone has music on their blog and I just love it. I am a happy farmgirl now! I have to figure out how to get pictures on here now. Then their's no stopping me. Who would have ever thought!

Kristin: DSL, wow!Now you're connected. But it's also dangerous. One can spend too much time with the computer and not get to the work (why do you think I send so many e-mails?) Seriously, you can find anything on the net. I feel sorry for people who won't give computers a try. If you are home bound or far from people, you aren't any more. You go girl!

I know. I have to limit myself. But it is fun. So much good information, too. I even looked up cuts of beef. I went to the family cow forum that always took forever just to pull up and there it is in a second. It's just a fun thing to have.I will probably never be technical at all but just the basics is fine with me.
Teresa, I thought we'd never get this here in the outback but finally did. Even a tower for cell phones. I can sit in my house now and talk on my cell phone. Used to have to go out in the yard and find a spot and stand really still. And that's so hard to do on a phone. So maybe they'll get it out there to you one day.

Thanks! And it's so much cheaper than dial-up, too. I had the bundle package with phone and dish and it was about $130. a month. Way too much. That's why I had it all turned off for awhile. Then my phone company had a special for $34. with the DSL and a phone. I can get calls in but it's .10 a minute if we dial out. Rediculous but for 911 I guess we need it. Although I have only called 911 one time ever. So I guess this will work.

We are the last people that can get DSL so far on our end. It is strange cause we are in the middle of the woods! Cell is on and off but that is ok cause we have landline and I actually prefer it for at home. I love being able to be on this site for periods of a time as well as looking up stuff. Rae

Kristin, we just got highspeed here last week. I was dial-up at 26.4 whatever that is... it was slow!! I know all about the searching and then going to town to run errands while it was loading. Mine isn't dsl it's called broadband and it's fantastic. We both will be up to this century as soon as we find out what this internet is all about hugh? Look out world!!
Warm Wishes Jennifer

I know what you mean, Jennifer. I think mine might be broadband, too. I am just not into all the tech terms at all. People, especially guys, want to talk all the weird talk and I just zone right on outta there. My brain just can't absorb talk like that. Puts me right to sleep. Boring!
My friend's son was trying to tell me about this Magic Jack thing yesterday and I tried to look interested but I kept daydreaming. So anyway, he went and got me one. So now I have another thing I don't know a thing about that I have to learn about. But it will be helpful for making long distance calls or any calls since I can't call out on my home phone now. Does anyone else have one of these contraptions yet? He loves his.
Dutchy, now I might be able to do some of the cool things you do on your blog! I love your blog. You have so much fun with it.
