Our first good snow today. Makes me want to go home and sit in front of the fireplace with a blankie and a cup of hot chocolate.

How far from TX to there? Oh who cares I'm on my way! LOL I'd give anything for some snow. I'll bring cocoa and two good books.

My husband and I visited WY a few years ago. It is my favorite place in the USA. I would move there in a flash, but my dh doesn't like the snow.

We have snow again today. :o) We do usually get a light snow at the end of September. But in Wyoming, you never know when it will start or stop. The year I moved here, it snowed on the 4th of July.

In 1970, we had 20 foot snow drifts next to our house. We would walk up on the roof and sled down. All the fences were covered, so we fed the neighbor's cows and they fed ours. We lost quite a few cows that year. We got snowed in to our place for three weeks. My dad was at the coal mine in Superior and could not get home. We ran out of coal for the house, so my Mom moved us all into the kitchen. She blocked the doors with blankets and heated the room with the old cook stove. My brother had to dig a path through the snow drifts to get us to the outhouse. (Inside water was froze) In the spring, we had a great roundup in town. Everyone drove the cows they had been feeding all winter to the stock yards and we sorted them out. There was a huge potluck dinner and the children played games while the menfolk worked with the cows.

I recall this as a great adventure, but my Mom does not remember it so fondly. As soon as she could, she moved to Arizona. *LOL*
