WOW! Only $575.00 for all that work and labor on hubby's SUV. I'm so glad it wasn't more. I was sweating bullets.hahaha I mean...labor alone will sink a ship and they had it 8 days. Of course they let it sit while they waited for the master cylinder(which was still under warranty)to come in....but still, brakes too! ~whew~
Mama was under the weather today so we are doing our running tomorrow....hopefully.
I saw hay getting it's 1st cutting today. HAY...in the first part of JUNE! Unbelievable!
Well, I'm off to bed. G'nite Gals!

A quick note before I get ready for work. Judy, great that it did not cost you and arm and a leg for the car fix. They can cost so much, just think of the money we would save without a car.
Peggy, good luck with the move again. I hope this one will be your last for awhile. It gets harder as we age, especially when you are doing the brunt of it. That is what I had to do with our moves also, but just think, things do not get broken that way!! LOL!!!
Have a great day,

G'Mornin Gals! Had a rough nights sleep(shoo-shoed a young racoon outta the bird feeder then worried he'd be back to tear it down and use it for "take-out").hahahaha But here I am. Getting ready to call Mama and see how she feels and see if she's ready to shop.
It's so nice to have my car back. I know i keep saying that...but...it's sooooo nice to have my car back! ROFL
THanks Jan! Yeah, we'd probably be rich if not for cars! Right?
Make it a Great day Gals....whatever you do today!

Hi girlies,
Just stopping for a minute. Had a busy day. This house thing is keeping my head a spinning and we were at bank. We had someone who looked at our house and basically thought it was junk...hurt my feelings a bit. It is an old farm house that has had much love and is in better shape since we have lived it in than it would have before. We have been lovingly fixing it up. I did manage to not open my mouth to say something unkind...I am quite sure God had His hand there. But still I was like really..you give it some more love..

So the day got away from us. Just wanted to sit a spell and now I think I will have some tea and crochet. So relaxing. I am working on a scarf. I will try to post a pictrue of my progress in the next few days. I am really loving the color of the yarn.

Yall have a good night. See Judy I am here dear. I am flat scared of the porch posse..hahahahahha
love to you all

Hi Tammy....I'm glad you're here. Wow! People can be so unkind! If they didn't like the house....they should have just said, thank you for your time, and left. HOW WUDE!!! lol We live in an old 1920's house and I'm sure someone would think it was junk too. I would have to tell them that it is a handyman's fixer-upper. If ya don't want to work on it, don't buy it. All older homes need work ...that's life...right?
Man, I have never seen this thread this quiet.

Hello My Porchies...

Well, thank you all for your prayers for my little granddaughter. She is still in the hospital. She has a team of Dr's working on her. A Pediatric Specialist, an Infectious Disease Specialist and a Cardiovascular Specialist. They have determined that she has Kawasaki Disease. No...I am not joking...that is truly what it is called. They are unsure what causes it but it originated first in Japan. Has now made it to Hawaii and the NW.
It is a rare childrens disease that affects children 5 yrs old and under. If the break-out of the disease is caught with in the first 2 wks of break out (high fever and rash)they can almost guarantee that it can be irradicated...by giving a medication drip for 36 hours. If it does not break the fever and rash in that time period they give another 36 hour drip. If the disease is not caught in that 10 day period (and thank God Naomi's was) then they suffer with cardiovascular disease and have an early demise.
I give God all the glory and I am so glad that my kids are good parents...who didn't just take the Pediatricians "Oh, she is probably just trying to fight off a virus." as the final
diagnosis. Or this Grandmama's "Oh, she is probably just teething."

I believe that God is using this to show my son that he needs to get back to a trusting relationship with God. He was very thankful that I had so many people praying for her.

Well, even though we had another horrific day of rain here...my body seemed to acclumate to it fianlly. If systems stay...or even go in and out...after four or five days your body is in less pain and you can at least function.

Tomorrow, I start packing. At the same time it looks like my husband will have a FT Work schedule for the next month. Which, that in itself is a God thing, because I can't get hardly any packing done when he is around.

I am tired tonight. I have read all the posts but am too exhausted to answer each individual one. Just know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

big hugs,
peggy

My Porchies...even after getting the good news about my Grandbaby (such a huge load off our hearts and
minds)...

I can't just sit and unwind and relax because as I mentioned we found out in the middle of all this that we got the Apartment that we put in for. Soooo, guess what I am going to be doing today (and for many more to come)? In fact I just
put in a load of laundry and have my boxes sitting here ready to go ...after I am finished writing to you. No rest for the wicked or the weary, as they say. :+)

To top that off everything at Shane, Larry's, and Sadie's work is unraveling fast. Both Shane and Sadie have been looking for new jobs and are getting some really good bites. But two other employees just quit this week. If Shane and Sadie leave...the boss will let Larry go too.

So that is all insanely crazy right now. The boss is going on 3 weeks holiday to Italy and sheis clueless that Shane is leaving (he is the Manager and her right and left arm). He does EVERYTHING...and she hardly knows how to run her own company. She is going to be shocked
when she gets back and has no employees but she has brought this all on herself. She is a raging lunatic. Shane has managed for her for 5 yrs...and each one she gets increasingly less
loyal to her employees plus she has created a hostile work environment because She cusses them out continually and expects them to work over time but refuses to pay them for it. She doesn't like Sadie and is firing her when she gets back from Holiday...but is going to keep her until she gets back. Sadie knows this (I would have walked out already if it was me) but is working while she looks for a job. The office will be calm and relaxing once the boss leaves next week for her trip to Italy. Eveyone will be able to breathe a bit easier with her gone. And the stress and tention will come down many levels.

On top of that...

Last night Larry had an episode of Vertigo and fell. He had been up with the dog. The dog had pooped on his potty pad and Larry had picked it up with tissue and headed for the bathroom to flush it...when vertigo hit...and the room went spinning out of control. Larry hit the floor and the "---- hit the fan" so to speak (excuse my french). My husband is a big man...so his fall woke me up out of a dead sleep. I came out to the Kitchen and my office nook and there he was...and poop had flown... everywhere... landing onto my desk... calendar, important papers, book shelf, floor, you name it. Plus Larry was laying in the dog's water dish with water spilled all over the floor and on him. And he brought down a few wall-hangings and bookshelf items with him in the fray. Needless to say he is really stiff and sore today. He has some huge scrapes down his hand, upper arm, and shoulder. BUT he had to go to work anyway. I am extremely concerned about The Vertigo...as he had it 6 yrs ago and had to stay in bed for three months.

Sooo, see how exciting my life turned...all in one weeks time! Gheesh! I could really just go back to bed and throw the covers over my head and not come back out for a week. BUT NO...I must pack instead!

OK, better go...will need breaks everyonce in awhile...so will keep you posted on my personal "Twilight Zone"...as I can.

Much Love and Hugs,
peggy

Peggy, so sorry for all that you are going through right now. Hope the vertigo ceases completely and it was just one episode. I am so glad they found out what was wrong with DGD before it got worse. Hopefully that will be the end of that one for you and your family. How scary. Again with this move, I wish I was closer to you to help with the packing. When do you plan on moving it all? Stop every once in awhile and take a tea break and things will work out better for you.
I am taking a break from cleaning closets and bedroom, so need to get back to it before Bob gets home from work. Have a great afternoon,

Miss Peggy we can be in the twilight zone together. I feel that way too. So glad to hear your granddaughter is on the road to mending. Will pray for your son as well. I hope Larry is doing better too.

Ruthie happy birthday to your daughter.

Today I went shopping and found some great sales. I found the cutest teapot clock for my room. It was the only one and I know it was just waiting for me to buy it and bring it home. So it now hangs proudly in my room and keeps time to its own song. I also found some great clothes for back to school on sale...so I was very happy about that. I have decided to buy throughout the summer so when school begins I am not spending in one big lump sum. Witht he house thing I might have other expenses so starting early.

well I am off to relax with a cup of tea and sit outside.
love to you all

Hi ya sisters,

Thanks Ruthie Ann for the tea, tuck in and lovely card. The flowers climbing up the side of the house reminded me of Judy's Rhododendron bush by the side of her porch.
Hubby has been sick for days on end, bronchitis. Found a home remedy online that says use 1/4 tsp. cinnamon, cloves and ginger in 8 oz hot water, honey to taste and drink it twice a day, so we are trying that. It loosened up his chest for more productive coughing so far.
Did laundry Friday and Saturday. LOVE my wringer washer and clothes lines. Like Judy glad to have her car back, I just keep repeating myself, but it IS SO GOOD to NOT have to go to the laundromat! Besides, I JUST LOVE my wringer......hahahahaha ok, i quit....for now... :)
My niece came and got me yesterday for an afternoon of pesto making. She had about 8 basil plants that were just loaded with leaves, so we picked them clean to about 4 inches to the ground, then trimmed the stems off, so they will grow again. She used a food processor and the whole house smelled good. Putting the pesto in small Dixie cups and popping them in the freezer is pretty smart. When they freeze, they can be popped out of the cups and into a ziplock bag and used as needed.
When I got back home, hubby had taken down the laundry! SOOOOO nice, because it was getting dark when I got back. PLUS, I knew it was definitely going to rain Sunday. And he even closed up my greenhouse. It is being used to "dry" mint leaves, chamomile and clover flowers right now. will have catnip and comfrey to dry next.

My garden is doing good so far. The tomatoes and peppers are blooming and the beans and corn are up about 4 inches. We had beets and beet greens the other day, SO TASTY! Those beets were like eating candy, they were that sweet and the beet greens were as good as spinach and I LOVE spinach and the greens cooked up in a minute after they got to boiling.

Well, enough for now. Hope you all enjoy your Sun-day of rest. I am grateful after being so busy this week outside. hugs n squeezles

Make my words soft and tender, for I may have to eat them. :)

Hello, Farmgirl friends!
This is the 3rd time today I will try to send you a note. Computor keeps timing out for some reason! So, I will make it quick!

First, Thank you so much Ruthie Ann for the lovely note card, teas and flower pin! The card is so pretty..made me smile..it sits by my reading/sewing chair. Earl Grey tea is becoming my fave breakfast tea with english muffins and homemade jelly. Yum. I will probably save the pumpkin tea for a chilly day! The pretty, flower pin will just look so fine on my parade watching hat! Thanks again girl!

Peggy, I was so happy to see the pics of you and sons! Nice to know what our friends look like..although, I did expect a crown for queen Peg..tee hee. So happy, also, to hear your granddaughter is getting better. Those times are scarey! Hope DH's vertigo is short lived. What a bummer. (At least it was your own dawg's poo.) Sounds like you are off to another adventure! Try not to wear yourself out packing.

Just got back from picking up a few groceries in town w/the Sunday papers. I'll wait til its cooler to tackle the garden. Doc says to work only 10 mins at a time out there. Almost seems like a waste of time..have to keep an excercise journal for fibro and chronic fatigue. Doc says it is not a lifelong desease. She said she has never had an 80 yr. old patient with those symptoms. I said they probably have passed on. Oh, well..this too will pass.

I listen to you all often, then am too worn out to write, but pray for you all. Farmgirl hugs, Judith

Judith...tell doc. she is wrong (well almost). My mom is 79 and she has Fibro and chronic fatigue. And
sense Fibro wasn't called Fibro until about the last 12 yrs (they considered it either Rhuematism or an arthritis of some kind or MS)...no wonder she has no 80 yr. old patients that know they have fibro...they just think it's called something else. LOL It is a life long disease. I hope your Dr. is
one that really reads up on Fibro and keeps abreast of all the new research. I have studied it so much
(both me and my sister) that I think I could write the medical journals on it. LOL

I love you girl. Just don't want the Doc pulling the wool over your eyes.

love and hugs,
peg

Hi Gals! Man I slept like a rock last night. Nightbefore last I only slept for 5 1/2 hours and was ready to get up. So I got up at 6:45 and was out washing my car at 7:30. It was pretty cool&breezy/60 but I kept moving. I felt something biting my ankles, looked down and it was tiny red ants.(silly ankle-biters)I'd smack'em and keep going. hahaha There were hundreds of them...musta been moving. I hosed them off the pavement once, but they came back. Yup...moving day! I shoulda sent them to help you Peg.hahaha So I finished up around 9:30, came in and had some bread&jam&coffee. Then I started washing clothes and hanging them out and doing dishes....I know....what got in to me...right? When I can't sleep, I work like a crazed woman. Then I changed my top and ran to the recycle place to drop off some stuff. I took the last load of clothes off the line around 8PM. Then sat with hubby after he got home from work, got my shower and....well....needless to say, when I went to bed at about 11 PM, I was dog-tired. hahaha Got up once to use the bathroom, then didn't wake up again until 9:30.
Now I'm enjoying my Day-of-Rest! Thank You Lord! ~whew~ I am ready for it! Sunny/breezy/86
Well, gonna go read and have some iced tea!
Enjoy your Sunday Gals!

Hi gals, I was an early bird going to bed last night, about 8:30, then got up around 6. I did not do much today though, it was too windy out to do anything out there, did some grocery shopping after going out for breakfast, the knit and watched movies on tv.
Glad you got in a day of rest today, Judy, after all that you did yesterday. It was 75 here and very windy, which did keep the humidity down.
Patsy, making pesto to freeze sounds like a good thing, especially when you are ready to make spaghetti. Glad your garden is doing so well. Mine is also, growing faster than I thought it would.
Believe it or not, I picked lilacs today!!!!! The regular ones were done here 2 weeks ago, but these are from a bush I planted a couple of years ago called angel lilacs. They are smaller than regular, and even more fragrant. Smells so good in the house with them.
Well off for now, more later,

Janet

Peggy, I'm so sorry you are moving again. Are you staying in the same area? I feel for your hubby. I use to have bad bouts of vertigo. I would have to leave work as soon as I felt it coming on otherwise I wouldn't be able to drive at all. My boss didn't believe me until one day I fell at work. I hope it goes away soon. It's not much fun when you can't even walk down the hall.

Judith, I agree with Peggy on the Fibro. I'm sure something like this has been poo pooed by Drs for years. Women have a hard time convincing Drs that this is real and really makes life painful. Don't give up.

Judy, you are so funny! Hopefully those ants realized who they were dealing with and took off for safer ground.

I only have the rest of this week of school and then a much needed break from homework. I'm a bit worried about my accounting final. Too many terms that just didn't sink in to my little brain. I'm trying not to worry too much. I still have a few more days to study. So far I have a B. A good grade on the test could get me an A. But I would settle for a B.

Other than that not much going on. Thinking good thoughts for every one having health issues. Get better soon.

Hello My Porchies...I know I am on here early tonight but need my rest for packing.

My grandbaby is still in the Hospital. She went through the first round of treatment for the Kawasaki disease and then she spent all last night really ill from it. She just threw her guts up all night long. My son and DIL are doing rotating shifts with her at the hospital. So please keep praying for them. I pray that Naomi doesn't have to go through another round of the treatment. We should find out tomorrow.

Well, yesterday I got the living room all packed up. (lots of nick-nacks) to wrap individually. So it took awhile. Today I started on my bedroom. Mostly sorted through my many skeins of yarn. Got 3 bags full ready for my sons fiance...as she is really into crafting too. The rest I will keep. More to do in my room tomorrow while hubby is at work.

Janet...I so appreciate your willingness (if you lived closer) to help me move. You know, I have all my Bible Study gals who are willing to help me too...but because I like to down-size each time I move...I pretty much have to go thru all the stuff myself. I will have the gal who usually cleans for me on Thursdays...help me with some packing this week, but other than that...I just have to pretty much do it when I feel like it. I work a little, rest a little...that sort of thing. I have plenty of time to pack...so, I feel good being able to do it at a slower pace.

I can't believe that you still have lilacs. Ours have been gone for about 3 weeks now. I miss their fragrance in the yard. And they are always so pretty.

Ruthie Ann...hope Katy had a Happy Birthday. Is she your ownly child? I did get your tea...loved the flower tuck and the beautiful card.

Teacher Tammy...yes, we can be in the Twilight Zone together. It is a crazy time for a lot of people right now. We might have to start a "Twilight Zone Club". LOL
Oh, take a picture of your tea-pot clock...I want to see it. I bet it is cute.

Patsy...I always laugh when I hear you say how much you love your wringer washer. We did clothes on one of those when I was a kid...and I was always afraid that thing was going to eat my hand & arm off. LOL
Oh, I am so envious of you gals and your gardens. I will no longer have a veggie garden. Won't even really be able to do patio pots at the new Apartment because my patio is shaded by some big pine trees. That makes me sad...as I have enjoyed gardening for years.

The pesto making and freezing sounded like a great idea. Made me hungry for Italian Food though!

Judith...Oh, gosh girlfriend...I left my crown at home that weekend. LOL I do have one though!

DH had started a new medication a week ago and we think that is causing the vertigo. So, he went off of it yesterday and was doing a tad bit better today. It will take awhile for the medication to get out of his system.

I am pacing myself on the packing. Just keep reminding me to.

Judy...Wow girl you were such a Whirlwind cleaning and working...maybe I need some of what ever you've been eating and drinking. LOL
I think you earned that day of Rest today.
Judy I could just see you doing the Fire Ant Dance!!! I've done that one myself once. Those suckers really hurt.

We are still having weather in the 60's but looks like we may make it into the 70's this week.
That will be lovely.

Bunny girl...good to hear from you tonight. Oh, so you have had the Vertigo Experience yourself... so you know how awful it can be. It is not one I ever want to have believe me.
I remember when DH had it before...when I drove him to the Hospital with it...just the movement of the car made him throw up all the way there.
The medication they gave him for it...did not work on him...so he had to stay flat on his back for 3 months. When he had to use the restroom...he had to crawl on his hands and knees. He couldn't watch tv at all. I felt so badly for him...that I would come in every night and read to him for a couple hours. We went through several series of books. I really enjoyed that time and so did he.

Glad for you that this is your last week of school. You need a break that is for sure. Do you have Quilting Classes Scheduled to teach?
How is the dog sitting going?

Well, I better go get my backside to bed. Want to read a bit before I go to sleep.

Hugs and Sweet Dreams My Lovelies,
peggy

G'Morning Gals! It's a lot cooler this morning with less humidity than yesterday. I watched a "Perriot" Netflix movie, read some, hung around with hubby some, lounged some......the usual Sunday stuff. *giggle*
Peg, they were just little red ants, and thankfully NOT fireants. My Mom got into a nest of those when she&Daddy use to travel after Daddy's retirement. She said those are VERY painful. I don't think we have them around here. Southern Ohio has all those nasty's...fireants,rattlesnakes,brown recluse....the creepy-critters... *shivers* ...and I hope they keep them down there.
These little red ants are just a bother. When I was growing up, they were a constant worry to Mama. She called them grease ants or sugar ants. They loved her grease can and sugar canister. It was a constant war every summer. hahaha....ahhhhh....memories. lol
Well, dunno what I will get into today....maybe some mending.
Make it a Great day Gals!

Ok all...I'mmmm Baaack!!!!

I've been without a computer for a while now. I have tried to keep up with everything on my kindle, but it's been hit and miss. I just cleared about 500 messages from my email, that took nearly an hour to sort, and I decided to skip the 9 pages I'm behind on here.

My birthday party went much better than expected. The aunt who was gonna stir up trouble got lost and didn't show up till after a bunch of others had already got there. She also had to leave early due to the heat. It worked out great. The only down side was that my baby girl got stung for the first time. I spent most of the party worryin over her. She's so tiny and only 3, her little foot swelled so bad she couldn't wear her pretty new shoes for the whole day. The tamales were a huge hit with everyone and I even had enough left over to freeze for dinner later.

I've been workin real hard on my garden and my little pots on the porch. They have kinda taken on a life of their own. The whole family has been huntin for pots and pot-like things for me to grow in! My whole little porch is walled with pots, my railins are completely covered, and the are startin to spill down the steps! Even my sweet grandma sent me 11 ten inch pots that she saved from her neighbors plantins to grow some bush beans in! I'm harvestin greens and pea pods from my little 4x4 bed faster than we can eat them. I have 6 tupperware window herb planters with some rootings and seed in them in my livin room. I even have a rubarb plant! Yea!!! It's a first for me and something I've wanted for a very long time, but could never afford. It was a very puny plant that was gifted to me, because they figured it wouldn't make it I'm guessin. They don't know me! I have new growth comin from the center of it and the older leaf stems have gotten very long and very red!

The girls left with my mom yesterday mornin for church camp. I am kid free till friday night! Hubby and I spent the day on the motorcycle at a ride for our local burn camp and then we went to his cousins to visit. The guys decided we needed to go do somethin, so we took the motorcycles to a bar they knew of that had a band playin and listened to that for the rest of the night. It was nice and such a warm night we had a pleasant ride home.

Oh yeah!!! My oldest DD found me a brand new esspresso maker, still in the box and everything, for $15! I had told her about 6 months ago that I wanted one for makin lattes but I couldn't spend much more than $20 on something frivolous like that. She's been huntin every website she could find and came across it last week. I love it and hubby loves havin a new toy. He has made me a latte every night since we got it. It has the regular coffee pot on the left and the esspresso maker on the right. I gave my old pot to my mom to take with her for her campin trips since it was an all plastic setup. The kind you fill your cup by pushin a button instead of pourin from a glass pot. So it all worked out great!

Well, I'm off to try to get the kitchen cleaned up and dinner started. Hubby is off tomorrow and wednesday so we can spend some time together, just us alone. I really don't want the whole weekends worth of dishes to do tonight. I want to just be able to rest and snuggle on the couch. I got alot of work to do to get ready!!!

Hi Angela - Good to see you back. Did you receive my package from our swap? I mailed it about a week and a half ago, so I hope it got there OK.

Peggy - I received my book today - thank you so much. I can't wait to start reading it!

Hugs to all - will write when I get more time. Am leaving for Vermont again on Wednesday AM to check on Mom and attend a memorial service for my cousin. Then on the weekend it is my 40th high school reunion. That should be interesting!

Howdy! Just thought I would check in before the posse came after me. It's been insanely hot and humid the past few days. Today, rain and cooler weather. Whew! I'm Norwegian, I'm not made for heat!

Ric and I found another house we like, so we are going to take a look at it this week. It has a huge yard that would be perfect for gardening! It would be, in his words, a nice starter home until we can find land for building.

It sounds like everyone has had a busy weekend!

A hook, a book, and a good cup of coffee....

HI Porchies,
I've lurked once or twice. Busy again, up and down, in general. I'm tired this a.m. because my little cat Miranda is hungry at night and bugs me to get up and feed her. I ran out of kibble last week and forgot to get some, which I now know is what keeps her through the night. Her thyroid level is way up, I can tell because she is yowling, pesty and thin. sigh. Back to the vet. Igot her to eat meat again, and off the canned food, which is why her thyroid level is up again. She only likes very smooth wet food, no chunky bits. So I use my stick blender, and it works.

But I haven't started packing yet, and I am NOT PANICKING, which is hard. I don't know where my house is yet. I'm praying about that. There are a few possibles. That isn't as important as the packing, tho.

peggy, What kind of office does Larry work in? What is the business about? What a weird place.

I'm praying for you all, and enjoying reading everybody's stories of their lives. This morning I have to clean up the kitchen AGAIN and then go to town to pikcu up boxes from Uhaul, get cat food, and go to class and then to work for a few hours. Then swimming, and then home.

This is our last rehearsal before our final concerts tomorrow. We're doing ok, better than I thought we would. I'll be glad when it is over, though. One less thing to think about.

So I could use some prayer to knwo how the heck to start packing.
Nan
