Hi Ladies! Popping in for a minute. I posted my last hats over in Stitching and Crafting. I put another one up on Etsy and it sold within 2 hours. I guess it's back to work now. I'm trying to finish something for another farmgirl. Welcome to all the new porchies. X O X O

Other than hat making, it's been nothing but rain here. I'm not complaining. I hope all the lakes and reservoirs and whatnot get filled up. Most of the garden is looking good and I got to harvest some lettuce and microgreens. The radishes are looking real good but I think it's going to take a tad longer than the 24 days the seed packet said. Speaking of seeds, I got 2 seed catalogs this past week and need to finish getting my wish list put together and get those suckers ordered! I'm always vowing to be on top of these things and get the seeds started inside 6 weeks early but it never quite seems to work out. Just not enough hours in a day. The bunnies are doing great and their personalities are starting to show. The little one loves being cute and licking my fingers. The older male is ornery. He likes dragging his food bowl and dumping it over to get attention. So far so good.

Lord, I'm going to have to do better at this. Haha! I've been wandering out in the pasture, again!

Trying to catch up, but I am at work and Lord only knows when someone will wander in and need me.

Bunny, when I was growing up, one of our neighbors drove an old VW Beetle, and took a country road to get to work. He got home one morning, way before he was supposed to, the front fender ripped right off... a cow had wandered into the street and he didn't see it till he plowed into her. Knowing how cows are incredibly smart, and yet incredibly NOT so smart, I make sure one of "the girls" hasn't wandered out of the pasture when it's foggy like that!

I have Saturday and Sunday off, so thank God, I'll be able to work on Christmas stuff, and HOPEFULLY finish it. Momma gave me and Josheach some money to buy our Christmas gifts from her, so I bought myself some little kits at Hobby Lobby to start learning to knit and crochet. They are intended for kids, but I figure, what does it hurt to learn that way? I can't wait to crack them open... Self control!

I went on a mad shopping spree last night. Left work around 10 after 4 and headed to Academy. Josh has been wanting what's called a heavy bag... the big training bag boxers and fighters use, for anyone who doesn't know. Anyway, they're normally 70 to 100 bucks, BUT I found an Everlast bag that came with practice gloves, hand wraps, a chain to adjust the height (which is great because Josh said he wants ME to use it "when we get one" for exercise & stress, but he's 13 inches taller than me!) and a jump rope. It was all FIFTY BUCKS. They had a special going on and I think I got the last one.

Well, I don't have a place at the house to hide it. Josh has access to the "barn", when we go somewhere, we normally take my truck, so hiding it in there was out. Well, my best girlfriend suggested hiding it in my manager's office closet. Funny thing, another friend of hers is hiding HER husband's Christmas gift in there, too!! I paid rent, though... bought her chocolate.

Anyway, since Josh already told me that he wanted me to use it, I picked up a pair of hand wraps for myself. Mind you, I am not a big fan of pink. BUT I got pink hand wraps. I call it Leila Ali pink, haha! It's not cutsey or hot pink... almost more mauve. "Tough" pink.

Here's the fun part. I'm going to wrap up my hand wraps and put them under the tree... with Josh's name on it. "Ooooooooh, I must've gotten those by mistake! Sorry hunny!" THEN show him the kit. It's just TOO big to wrap, and out of NO where this devious idea came (I'm such a mean girlfriend....)

It started getting cold shortly before I left work, and drizzling, so I was glad to be working up a sweat last night. Got all my groceries, a bottle of Sailor Jerry for Josh and a bottle of whiskey for me (I used a small bit to make vanilla with... hooray!, a few more christmas gifts, and a tank of gasoline.

Now, if I can only keep focused and get this christmas stuff done!

For now, going to keep sipping my coconut chai and... stare across the lobby at my manager? haha!

Hope everyone is doing well (and better for those who have had troubles!) and I will catch up later, hopefully this weekend!

Hi Everyone

Pam I know what you mean about not having time during the week. It is amost 6 when I get home. Then dinner and dishes and bed.
I would love to get something done but besides a little knitting (sometimes I have to take it, cause I mess up) I don't get much done.

Tammy Chocolate chip scones sound wonderful. I love a good scone with my tea.

I am impressed so many of you are done or almost done with your Christmas shopping or making. I still have a bit to go. Mostly baking.
I put together boxes for my kids. Baked goods and home canned stuff. Things they don't get because they do not live at home anymore.
One son said is girlfriend bought him jelly at the store. I have not bought jelly in years! He said it was ok
but the store did not have as many choices as my pantry. LOL

We have started finales here so I best see if anyone needs me.

Well My Porchies...put the last of the christmas cards in the mail today. Hurrah! I know I send out way too many but I do
usually enjoy doing them. I am just not usually this late.

My future DIL came over with my son last night and she was going to work on Christmas Cards with me...but she didn't get
anything done. Poor girl...she has lots of ambition and great idea's but they work so hard at their jobs by the time they
get home they don't feel like doing anything...and I get that. So, she visited with me and just relaxed. She probably
needed that more than anything.

Loved the scones Tammy! Need all the Choc and caffine I can get this time of year just to make it through each
day. But at least I don't have full time jobs like you gals do. In fact I am about ready for a nap. I slept
terribly last night from Fibro Pain. ~ I am going over to dog sit at my sons tonight while the go bowling. May
take Snickers his brother with me...so they can play and I can knit and watch TV.

Miss Maranda...sounds like you got a whopper of a deal on Josh's Christmas Gift. He will love you for that! And I
love your pink wraps that you are going to prank him with. LOL I love a good sense of humor...hope he does too. ha ha!

I am all done with Christmas Shopping other than purchasing 4 Gift Cards for my kids. I stuff their stockings and then
give them 2 gift cards to their favorite shopping places. Mailed off the grand-daughters gifts and so everything is a
WRAP!

Pam and Dianne...I don't know how you working girls get everything done. I know I seemed much more organized when I worked
and that is probably how I managed at the time. Sending prayers for extra energy and strength for each of you working gals
to help get through the holidays as stressfree as possible.

Well, off for that nap....Love & Christmas Joy,
peggy

So happy this week is over! Today was actually much better than I expected, after the last 2 days, but I'm still glad the week is over & next week is a short week for me, then a whole 10 days off! Woohoo!

Peggy - I don't get everything done! Hence another reason to start in March! And this year, I think I'm skipping the decorations inside. I do have my wreaths up (I have 3! Crazy!), and I have my lights on the patio railing, and a few little Christmas things around, but I figure it's time I could be using to actually make a Christmas present .... and since I'm not likely going to be here from the 23rd or 24th til the 1st, what's the point? Next year - mental note - put it up in November when you have a bit of time!

I was talking to my sister tonight & asked her what I could get for my nephew & she says "when do you want to take him? I need someone the second week of Christmas holidays/first week in January"....yeah. Can't do that lol. As much as I would love to have him here for a few days, when I gotta work, it's not gonna work! Did get a few ideas for him for Christmas presents, and for my sister - can you believe she forgot that we were exchanging presents? Crazy woman! So I reminded her that it was her idea, she set the limit at $30 & I already had part of hers bought, so she needed to buy something for me!

Ok, I'm going on a hunt for things that I need to buy tomorrow & see what I can find....

Thanks Dianne. I'm getting excited about the bees. We're a bit concerned about bears. That's always a possibility here. And it was in Eureka, too, even in town. (On the northern Calif. coast, in the redwoods. Now I'm about 350 miles north.) I haven't seen any right here where I live, just racoons and coyotes. I wonder if coyotes like honey. I dn't think the racoons will be a problem, but bears are big enough to knock over the hives, and also, apparently ignore the stings. but we'll just have to wait and see. No point inworrying before the fact, anyway.

Chocolate chips scones, how nice. I'm home in bed after the concert. It went very well, too, we were pleased. but my feet hurt.

You know, after Mother died in 2008, I quit doing holidays. I'm begnning to get back to them again, but Xmas, long before that, I was so sick of the commercialism, that I just quit. I don't do cards, or gifts. I would like to decorate, esp with outside lights, but my house doesn't have any plug ins at all on the outside front. It's really weird. I do still do food and music, though. and some decoratoins. But that's it. It's so very restful. Now it becomes about Jesus. He's restful.

Nan...you are so right it is all about Jesus and He is very restful! Wonderfully so!!!

I baby sat my son's dog tonight. He was a very good boy! Just snuggled with me on the Sofa while I knit, read,
and watched TV. I was home by 10:30. It is nice that the kids only live 5 minutes away from us.

well...off to bed... more tomorrow,
peggy

Well its sort of official. We are all going to keep the business open next year through the end of August. OK no retirement for me yet.
Got a bigger hammer and got that pesky catalytic converter in that wood stove changed. I surely must have looked really funny with most of the upper half of my body stuffed inside that wood stove. Yesterday was a mixed bag of good and bad. My son is not coming to Christmas dinner due to the problems with his girl friend. But she is the one who got drunk and caused major big time hassles. Now her feelings are hurt because my ex's widow did not want her at the wake because of her drinking problem. I finally told him that we needed to drop it and leave it alone. We are just not going to invite him to family gatherings any more as he is not coming anyway. He missed his Dad's last Christmas and Thanksgiving due to her "hurt feelings". Too bad but just have to pray for both of them to get saved and leave the rest alone.
He also had to put his old dog down yesterday and I did not mean to get into it with him right then so I did call him back after hanging up on him and told him I was sorry about his old boy and I loved him and leave it lie. I am not proud of myself for loosing it on the phone. Not good.
Anyway my paycheck should be on my desk and I need to drive into Anchorage and get it. The roads there are a mess due to all the rain out here in the Borough they are good. Anchorage has a cheap mayor. So off and away. Later all:)

Nan, my family stopped giving presents a few years ago. No one had any money and what ever they needed was so expensive I couldn't afford it anyway. Our last two Christmases were so nice. This year I'm too far away to be with my kids. My mom and I will spend it with a friend and her family. I have only been here a year so all is still new for me. We decorated a small tree so that was nice.
Do you live on a farm? Where are you going to put your bees?

Cherime, so sorry for the family drama. But everyone has to make their own choices. Maybe someday he will come around. Hope you have a safe trip to Anchorage.

Made it through day 1 of 4 days in a row. Everything went great yesterday until one young guy in the produce section got made at me for doing something I was told by someone else in the department to do. Made me sad. I just didn't feel like being there anymore. I didn't have anything else to do so I just left an hour early. Not looking forward to dealing with him today. Not much to do with the gift baskets until next week but I need the money. My fibro is getting pretty bad. My hands are all swelled up and I'm hurting most of the time. I just have 7 more days of work and I'm done. Thankfully two of those days are only 4 hours each, and I have a day here and there off in between. I work the day after Christmas to take everything down and put all the stuff that doesn't sell back. I'll be busy the whole time. I hate not having enough to do. Yesterday the manager was nice enough to have me stock the bag salad section and some other odd jobs.

Anyway, kicking back until I have to get ready for work. Shouldn't be too bad today. 1pm to 8pm. Only 6 hours on my feet. I'll do fine.

Later porchies.

Well, I wasn't too terribly productive today...but I do think I got all of my Christmas shopping done! I was going to leave it until next Friday...but I figured that it would be easier to do it a different store than usual, and not so close to Christmas. Now I gotta work my butt off to get my niece's quilt done before next Friday. I think tonight I'll get things organized for wrapping/packing, then tomorrow after church, I can work on the quilt. Let's hope! I even bought a new Christmas CD today - Josh Groban Noel. Nice music. Not like Celtic Woman Christmas, but it's still very nice. I've decided not to put up my tree this year, b/c it's just me & I'm not going to be home for the week between Christmas & New Years, so there's not much sense. I do have a few Christmas-y things up & around, just not a whole lot.

Bunny - hope you don't hurt too much, and I'm counting down my days til our Christmas holiday - 4 day work week next week! Yay!

Cherime, I'm sorry you're having all this drama right now. That sucks.

Well, I think I'm off to be a bit more productive & get organized some! Later porchies.

Cherime...tis the Season for Family Drama. Unfortuantely...it happens in many familys...so you're not alone girlfriend.

Bunny...hope this week goes quickly for you...but that you also experience some unexpected Holiday Joy...where you
least expect it.

Pam...don't forget to take pictures of that quilt before you box it up...we want to see too! I think you made the right
decision about not putting up your tree, since you aren't going to be home. Smart girl...if you ask me. This is the firat
time I have put a tree up in four years...besides a ceramic one. Our Apartment was too small but the house is now perfect
for our small 6ft tree. It looks so cute and festive. ~ I have the Josh Groban's Noel CD...I love it! The more I played
it the more it became one of my favorites.

Well, the boards are quiet this weekend...which I would expect with Christmas just around the corner. Let's all enjoy
this last week with Friends and Family and the many blessings we encounter with this Joyous Christmas Season. (we need a little
smiley face with a Santa Hat On! lol)

bless you all,
peggy

Man are you, Peg and Bunny, right about the season for family drama. And as for making our own choices, I really know that one, made my share of idiotic decisions. Funny though, my DD called my DS to say sorry about his dog and she said that she had the hardest time keeping to the topic of dogs. I do love that son of mine but he is such a funny duck at times.
Raining and 32 degrees most of the night and a.m. I made it ok to Anchorage Sat a.m. but have to drive in tomorrow. Gonna start early so as to avoid the crazy drivers, those seeking to join the ditch riders club.
Blessings ladies.

Hello ladies,
I am doing a bit of a dance on the porch. My Christmas shopping is done. I don't have cards done but may do a New Years letter instead. I am so relieved to be done with my shopping. Now I can enjoy the next 2 and 1/2 days with my little butterflies and then spend Thursday baking for family coming home and get togethers.

My little butterflies and I have full days of school on Monday and Tuesday and then we get out on Wednesday at 12:00. We will do some work and fun things and have party on Wednesday before I show them on their merry way to family until Jan. 4.

Well time to get ready for bed and excited little butterflies tomorrow.
love to you all

I will for sure take a picture of the quilt, Peggy! Unfortunately, I did not get a darn thing done on it at all this weekend! I'm rather disappointed, because I wanted it mostly done! I could have done it when I got home after church - it was about 3 when I got home (we had our Christmas concert today & then potluck afterwards). But I had to do laundry for this week, and get a gift together for my Kinette girls tomorrow, then one of my dad's cousins emailed me about some family history stuff. I figured I better do that before it's another 2 months & I still don't have it done! So that sent me on a wild goose chase to see if I could find a wedding picture of my great grandparents on that side (that's how we're related), but I searched through all of my stuff & couldn't find one. I'm thinking maybe my great aunt has one. I'll have to check in January. Maybe when I get my tonsils out.... I really wish I could do more family history stuff but I have yet to figure out how to get Family Tree Maker onto my computer (every time I try, it just shuts down - dumb thing), so I'm not sure what I need to do.

Peggy the tree I have is maybe about 2 ft high, I think? This picture is from 2 years ago. It's the perfect size for my teensy apartment.

And I love my antique ornaments (I wish I had more of them!)

I think my favorite Christmas CD lately is Celtic Woman Christmas & the Solitudes Christmas. Before, I was really into the Disney Season of Song (A Traditional Holiday Collection), and I still do like it, it's just on a tape (tells you how long ago I got the CD!), so I don't always remember to listen to it.

Well ladies, I think I'm going to bed early tonight. I'm pooped. That's what I get for staying up too late last night trying to get a (as in ONE!) Christmas present ready for this morning! And also getting up earlier so I could get stuffing made for potluck (good thing for crockpots!).

Life isn't about finding yourself. It's about creating yourself.

Pam...your little 2 ft Tree is adorable! And I love your antique ornaments, they are beautiful.
That is a perfect apartment size! ~ One of my all time favorite Christmas CD's is Faith by Kenny G,
and The Gift by Kenny Rogers and then Third Days Christmas CD. I love Andy Williams Christmas
music too but I lost my CD and have been keeping my eye out at the stores to get a new one. May
have to order On-line however. ~ Aren't crockpots the greatest? I love them too!

Tammy...I hope you have a Wonderful two days with your little butterflies and then lots of rest and
relaxation until Jan 4th. How is Jax doing? Does he like the Christmas tree and trappings?

Cherime...my husband and I love watching the Alaskan State Police Show on TV (on the National Geographic
channel). They always have beautiful scenery and very interesting cases that they are working on. I always
feel like I am getting a little glimpse into your world when I watch it.

Well, today I accomplished nothing except I did make my hubby a good dinner. Turkey Breast with Brown Rice,
Mushroom Gravy with peas and apples mixed in the rice. Sounds weird but was very tasty. One of those Recipes
where you think, Oh...this sounds like it might be good with that. And it was! Then I spent the evening
reading while my husband did a Hospital call on one of his co-workers. My Fibro had been flaring today...so,
it was a total pajama day for me with lots of sleep.

We are on the count down now...until Christmas!

Blessings,
peggy

Good Morning

I am alive! Ok so are you if you are reading this. I woke up or should I say got woken up by a migrain headache yesterday. It is bad enough to wake with a headache, but this is the first
time one has woken me up. Of course it could not be a day I could throw the covers over my head and hide. I took some pretty good meds that dulled it enough for me to function, but
the headache never really went away. I took some more really good meds last night and went to sleep. This morning I feel sooooooo much better. It is funny how a something like a headache can ruin
the whole day.

Peggy Thanks for the prayers. After yeasterday I need all I can get. I was behind before now I am really behind.

Cherime I know family drama! Mine is with my children. You can not have 6 kids and not get drama. I did put my foot down last year at CHristmas and told everyone it was my and Christmas. They could be
nice to each other and the spouses or sinificant others or leave!. Funny no one left and everything was good after that. I am still MOM! I know it does not always work out that way.
This CHristmas I will be one short of a full house. My oldest DS and family will not be able to get here till after Christmas. :(

Bunny you are in my prayers every morning. I can't imagine working with that kind if pain.

Pam I am counting days too. Tuesday the 20th is my last day till Jan 4th. I can hardly wait!
I love the ornaments they are beautiful.

Well 1st period finales are almost over so I better get ready for 3rd period. We have areally short 2 nd period and a break before 3rd. I will be helping with the special ed kids 3rd and 5th periods today.
They need someone to read the test to them and explain the questions if they don't understand them. I had to brush up on a couple of subjects. Like Ag. I never was in FFA so some of the stuff I never learned in the first place. LOL

I did get one thing done yesterday with my families help. We made Huckleberry fudge. I do mean the whole family. My DD put stuff in the pan and stired, my Dh helped add the stuff at the end and
my DD's BF helped pour and spread it in the container to cool. All I did was give directions and tast of course. Not too much, my stomach still was not in great shape from my headache.
I left some fudge on the porch for all of you to try.

Hello everybody! Missed chatting with everybody over the weekend. I tried to post Saturday from my phone but once again it didn't appear after I posted.

Cherime - feel for you girlfriend. None of my kids want to spend the holidays with me because of the man. I miss my kids so bad I want to scream some days. Hopefully next year I'll have them surrounding me again and hopefully your son will come to his senses so you can enjoy him too.

The man took me to Cantebury Village yesterday. It's a small replica of a German village that sells Christmas items. They have one huge 3-floor building with all the Christmas-ey stuff in it and then multiple smaller houses with various shops and places to eat scattered through the Village. The woodwork in the large building is amazing. The village is a smaller version of Frankenmuth which is an entire town here in Michigan that specializes in Christmas year around and home to the famous Bonnor's Christmas Store. I bought several ornaments to add to my already overloaded tree. I couldn't help myself - they had tons of ornaments with cardinals on them I had to buy a couple :O) I found this adorable ornament that had a pair of gardening gloves, a small garden spade, and a pot with miniture sunflowers hung together on a string - had to have it LOL We also picked up some fudge; chocolate mint and chocolate peanut butter - yummm.

He then took me to the mall. I was able to pick up a gift card for him at the Bass Pro Shop which pretty much finished my shopping. Yaaa!!!! All that walking about killed me. My feet hurt so bad even though I was wearing my crocs. We went to a gun store after we left the mall. When I got out of the car I wasn't sure I was going to be able to walk the pain was so bad. I was seriously worried about what condition I'd be in today but thankfully the pain is bearable. I have my massage scheduled for today so I'll have her work on the feet. I think I'm going to have to break down and see a foot specialist to find out what's up with this. Plantar fascitis shouldn't last over 2 years especially at this degree of severity. Uggg, more medical expenses.

Dianne - there's nothing worse then waking up with a migraine. Hope you feel better today and that it goes away.

PeggyAnn - No headaches for you either :O)

I'm sure everybody has busy plans this week but please take a minute (or several) and take care of yourselves!

Howdy ladies,
I hope you had a great day. It is cold and blustery! It feels like Christmas.

Peggy~Jax is doing well. He is having to learn that the big pups don't always like to play. He doesnt bother the tree...but sure does like to steal things from my closet. I just laugh.

Tonight one of the moms in our school made us a little after school party. It was fun. We had a light supper and wine and Mexican hot chocolate which was awesome. Almost as good as my hot tea. I did say almost. Then she gave us a little gift. I thought that was so sweet of her.

dianne, so sorry you had a migrane. But glad to hear you are feeling better today.

Well ladies I am off to do a bit of reading and get my gifts ready for my little butterflies. I made a tray of fruit for my fellow teachers. We have had so much sweet stuff I thought this would be a nice change.

Ok off I go. I hear the tea kettle whistling.
love to you all,
Tammy

Hi Gals, been MIA for awhile...tis the season I guess. Got cookies done, shopping done and just need to wrap a couple of things. Since DH and I have bought so many new electronics this year, we are just doing stocking stuffers for each other. (if I get his stocking made) His old one literally disentigrated. LOL Since I bought him lots of hand-tools, I think I may have to upgrade him to a king-size stocking. Don't want to have a blow-out Christmas morning, ya know. hahaha
We pulled up our carpet in the L-room 2 weeks ago and found a nice old oak floor. The house is a 1920 home, so we just cleaned it up really well and put down an area rug and a runner and we'll decide if we want to leave it rustic or ....who knows...we'll see. Too close to Christmas to care about it now. I'm just tickled to get rid of that nasty carpet. I love turning off the lights at night and seeing the colored tree lights shine on that old wood floor. Preeeetty!
Well I have to take Mama to the eye doctor tomorrow morning at 7 o'too-early, so I'd better get to bed. 6:30 will come early!
If I don't get back before Christmas....Merry Christmas to All and to All a Good-Night!
Love Yuns!

Hi all! I hope everyone is doing well. I only have two and a half more days of school, and then I'll be free for a week and a half! I'm praying for everyone with drama during this season that should be filled with happiness and love, and I hope everyone is able to find some time to relax! Farmgirl hugs to all!
God's and Holiday's Blessings,
Megan
