I'd love to go foraging for mushrooms but I really want to do so with a professional. Is there some kind of fungus union or mushroom mafia that I should contact. Where's the best place to find some qualified instruction? Google isn't cutting it in this instance.
Thanks!

I'm not familiar with WA, but you might have a mushroom club in your area. Did you try either of these sites?

Around here, I would look at the program offerings of my local nature centers. They usually have some mushroom events in the autumn, and I would have a good chance of meeting some mushroom experts. Maybe you have places like that?

Or try your county agricultural extension office.

I hope you find somebody. I would love to hunt mushrooms too, but have never gotten around to it. My middle school science teacher was a mushroom expert and took our class mushroom hunting. It was great.

Too bad you live so far away, Kimberly. We have a mushroom expert that lives here. I agree with the idea you should check with the extension office or maybe a community college?

It's not about being perfect, but enjoying what you do. Set aside time to be creative.
