Okay so my husband's hair has been getting really long and he needed a cut. We usually trim his hair with the hair clippers with a plastic guard on them so it comes out the right length.
Well I couldn't find the normal ones so I brought home my horse clippers. The plastic guard just BARELY fit on to them and so away we go. Well Doug starts complaining that the clippers are pulling his hair and so I try to go slower and get about half way done. I move around to the front and start shaving when I realize the path I had just made looks weird. The Guard had come off and it buzzed all the way down to the skin! YIKES!
I burst out laughing and hubby asked "What?!" and I told him and he starts laughing too! Good thing he could see the humor in it! So we of course have to proceed at the MUCH shorter length and I keep having intermittent laughing problems and have to keep taking little breaks to get myself under control! Then we get to the last little patch and the clippers kindof caught some hair and pulled. This caused hubby to jump and say ouch. Which of course me being in the silly mode asked "You okay?" like Nora always does. This caused us both to start laughing so hard we had tears in our eyes and about wet ourselves.
I use our doggie clippers on my husband. Earlier this year our outdoor kitty got in the stickers really bad so away we went with them for a kitty shave. Every time I clean them between the animals and him but, he really thinks it's funny to tell his friends that I use the animal clippers on him. I've really never been too good with them. Good for your hubby for being a good sport!! I just tell my hubby to tilt his head a little and nobody will notice! What will we do to them next?
Thats so funny Alee! My mom cuts my dads and brothers hair to and thats always her worst fear is cutting it to short. Good thing your husband is forgiving! Maggie
The first time I met my husbands sister and her husband, she had just taken the clippers to his hair. He just wanted a "trim" so he would look nice for the new family member. She misjudged rather badly and wound up cutting all but an 1/8" off. This was back before short hair was back in fashion for men. I've always gotten a good chuckle at that memory.
Hubby has been sporting a buzz cut all summer. first 2 times someone else cut it. that person moved and last month I had to take over.
Luckily the clippers had blade guards....still makes me a little nervous
It turned out ok. Ever notice how the human head is kind of lumpy? Especially in places where you need a steady hand and a smooth path
Lighting in the house is prety bad, so we trim hair outside. Makes clean-up super easy.
Funny thing is, his regular hair stylist never could get it right. What's so hard about a MILITARY cut??? She was so hesitant to cut off his pretty curls. Well, OFF they came and it pleases me to no end to know how much he likes his short, short hair.
