Is anyone else stuck in the 50's? I just love that era. I was born in the 50's so grew up with the style all around. I just never left it behind me. I have lots of 50's things mixed into my very eclectic home. For me it is where I get my calm from. Some of my most favorite items are: 1. Crib with those cute pink and blue lamb decals 2. Cracked Ice Formica table and chairs 3. Yellow vinyl and chrome high chair 4. Bark cloth drapes 5. Graduated single strand of pearls
What are your favorites?

Me, me, me!! I mostly love the music. I remember my babysitter making me a poodle skirt to match hers and thought I was so cute - I must have been about 6.
I loved this red chair my grandma had with the steps you could fold out.
My dad's heating, vibrating recliner.
My Annie Oakley outfit that my folks gave me for a gift.
A big "rocking" horse that was red with black spots.
A lot of the TV shows - Annie Oakely, Roy Rogers, Sky King, Fury, and My Friend Flicka.

I adore the 50's and use a lot of its influence in my work. The mini-collection I am working on for finals includes a swing skirt, a wiggle skirt, and a few tied up cotton blouses.

Corrine I hope you post pictures of what you make, I'd love to see it. I went to your blog and saw you were designing clothes for grown up hippies. LOL That is to cute. I am grown up and because I have very long hair and go barefoot all the time I get called a hippie. I think the clothes we wore were the best past poodle skirts. LOL

Love the 50's too. Grew up in the fifties.Loved the poodle skirts, the peter pan collors and lots of scarves.Remember the "sock-hops" Dances back then were in the gym and no shoes were aloud. If my hair wasn't in a ponytail with a scarf then I teased the heck out of it. Oh! I almost forgot the music!!!! Claw bathtubs and red-vinyl and chrome table and chairs in the kitchen. Laurie

Me too! Though I missed the 50's by a year, I still love that time frame. And like Hosanna, I also love the 40's and 50's. My apron collection is from all three. They all have such a homey, wonderful, fun feel to them.
