I was out watering my garden today and was watching the bees that were very busy on my Autumn Joy. As I was looking, I noticed that none of them had pollen on their legs, yet they were really going to town. Do bees go to plants just for nourishment, and not for pollen gathering?

For tomorrow and its needs I do not pray, but keep me, guide me, love me, Lord just for today.

Sometimes they will seem to concentrate more on gathering nectar, sometimes more on pollen. It depends on how much of each they have stored, how much brood they are raising, etc.

Thanks Jennifer. I was able to ask a guy at the farmers market that told me the same thing. I guess I just thought they always gathered pollen. It is amazing just to watch them.
