I thought I would post some pictures of some new hand spun yarns I have listed on etsy and also let everyone know that I have a new etsy at www.DuckysTreasureChest.etsy.com with craft supplies and some hand made items! We are hopefully moving next month and I would love to not have as much to pack so please take a look! I will be listing more stuff on a regular basis!
Diana, Thank you very much! I have been sitting and working on yarn while I do home school with the kids and I have been amazed at how much I have been able to get done! I have to say that you are my inspiration for the peach yarn! I love the way your yarns spiral! I tried to do that with the aqua yarn, but I spun it a bit too thin and it doesn't have quite as much spiral to it as the peach! The white one is mohair that I got from Grace and I love it! There is a lady here in Arizona that has a baby angora goat that I could get for $50.00 and I am so tempted!!!! I don't know if I can talk hubby into it or not! Shouldn't you usually get at least 2?
I love the mohair also, and the goats are great! I don't know if you really need two with the goats, especially if you and the kids are home all day. They are alot like dogs and will bond with you if you give them enough attention....so maybe it won't be lonely? That seems like a good price if it's healthy and all. I paid 250 for my buck and then another 250 for our two does. Good luck with everything!
Monica~the yarns are just amazing. You are such an awesome spinner. I am hoping to do well at the upcoming craft fair and have some extra pennies so I can place an order. I love them.
Here are 2 more new yarns! The first one is hand dyed Romney wool spun with 2 strands of sewing thread with yellow glass beads. It is approx. 165 yards.
The second one is wonderfully soft mohair yarn with light blue beads! It is approx 65 yards.
I will be listing these on etsy soon, but if anyone is interested just leave a post and I can give you a price on them! Thanks for looking!
They are so beautiful Monica! I really like the orange colored ones and the third one in the top pic - the multicolor. You do beautiful work! If I was a better knitter I would purchase some, I'm afraid that my knitting wouldn't do them justice :)
The yarns are absolutely beautiful!!! and yes you would need 2 goats. they like to have a friend. If I could get an angora for $50. I would jump at it. I would love to have one. to bad I live so far away. If I lived closer I would keep it and you could come visit anytime and we could share the yarn!!! hehehehehehe you will just love it if you get it. If it is a buck get it whethered and you will like it even better.
Folks will know how large your soul is by the way you treat a dog....Charles F. Doran beverley baggett Beverley with an extra E... http://bevsdoggies.googlepages.com/
Beverly, I want to get her, but I don't know if I have the space for 2! If I ever move closer I will take you up on the offer!!! Even if I had the space, I don't think I can sell hubby on the idea right now!
I am going to be donating 1/2 of my yarn sales to compassion International Crisis Relief Fund for the Philippines from now until the end of October. My husband and I sponsor a little boy from there and 60-80% of the province that he lives in was flooded during the recent storms! What ever I am able to raise will go into a general relief fund to provide basic necessities!
I am starting to work on some Christmas yarns! Please let me know what you think! This one is white Mohair with red and green silk blended in!
Monica, if I made things with yarn, I would definitely buy yarn from you. Your yarn is so outright gorgeous. I am so busy sewing these days. I am just glad that I am doing better so that I have the energy go sew.
I have heard a lot of good things about Monica's yarn. You can tell that it is high quality and it would look terrific made up into a scarf. So snugly and warm.
You are right about that, Sharon. It is totally beautiful. I've got some and can't wait to make some pretty scarfs for the holidays. I gave a 'shout out' for you in 'Across the fence', Monica!
Karen, I was going to e-mail you the other day and see if you had got it! I know it was waiting for you when you got home! I am so glad that you like it! I absolutely love my crumb pan!!
