Hello everyone!
Ever since I learned how to quilt, I've loved charm squares! One of my first quilts that I made was a charm quilt. Just a lap size, but I keep it on the back of my couch.
I have so many 5" squares! I want to make a charm quilt to fit the double sized bed in my guest room. I do have plenty of squares, but need to start collecting more to someday finish it.
Has anyone made a charm quilt?
If so, did you use squares or triangles?
Did you have a color theme or just use whatever you had?
Want to post pictures?!!!!
I am planning on posting pictures as I go along.
Oh, my plan is to just start stitching and see what I have!

Yes, please someone post pictures. I've seen a few threads about charm squares but have no idea what this is. I'd love to see pictures.

I am actually wanting to make a charm quilt as well. If you go to Quilt Taffy which might be a blog... but just google the name there is a pattern on there to make a quilt out of all charm squares and than your binding and backing. it shows sizes to make the quilt in twin and queen size! ENJOY!

I love charm quilts. hexagons, squares, triangles. All of them. They are fun to make too. Easiest to find fabric that you love. Then put others with it. Don't want them all to be too matchy, matchy. It is good to have some that zing when you look at them. I am fond of 30's feedsack looking fabric. There are lots of reproduction fabrics out now.
Most anything goes with charm quilts. just sew what you like. Will be beautiful!

Yes I have made a charm quilt. Mine was all Halloween fabrics! It is in the shape of a bottle. One goes up, the next one goes down making a straight line across the row. But any shape (squares, hexagons, rectangles, triangles, apple core, whatever. Charm quilt means that each piece in the quilt is from a different fabric. They were popular in the 1860s and into present day. When I get time, I would gladly share some of my fabric with you Brenda. Is all different colors or one color theme?
