A friend of mine travels to Africa yearly and talks about an orphanage there that would love dolls. I want to make some, maybe about 14 inches. Finding a pattern should be easy but I was wondering about making a face for the dolls. The children are all under 18 months and I was thinking that I wouldn't put a face at all. Any suggestions, pattern ideas woould be so helpful. Thank you all, Carol

how sweet it is to love some one, how right itis to care

I would use acrylic paint or embroidery to do the face! I have a pattern for a country rag doll that is fairly simple and she is 13 inches tall! If you want to e-mail me I will send you the pattern. She has a simple embroidered face.

This lady's patterns, kits, and supplies are discounted currently. I purchased a custom doll from her as a gift for my son when his sister was born--it is exquisite.

When I make my Comfort Dolls, I just do a simple embroidered smile and eyes, you can see them on my blog.
