Anyone have one of those crank kinds that can whip out sauce :) separate from the seeds/skins that you no longer use/need? I'm looking for one at yard sales, but have not found one yet. If you have one to get rid of, let me know, we can barter or pay $ if not too much :)

Can you tell I have a kitchen full of tomatoes and fruit flies right now?

Sheila wouldn't give mine up for the world but keep looking I got my sister one at an antique store about 6 months ago. And actually paid only $3 for it.

Shelia, Forgive me for sounding dumb, but are you talking about the strainers that have kind of a metal blade inside that sits at an angle and you can adjust the height of it by the nut on the bottom? If that's what you are looking for I will keep an eye out for one for you! I recently got one like that at an antique shop where I live for $5.00. I had been looking for one for a while and finally found one! I can also check at the thrift stores when I go into town Saturday.

Shelia, The one in the pic you put up is what I was thinking of, but I vaguely remember my mom having some kind of strainer that attached to the counter that we used to do tomatoes when she canned. If I remember correctly it had a white funnel on the top!

I looked online and found this one and this one is very similar to the one my mom had! If this is what you are looking for I will keep an eye out for one! http://www.everythingkitchens.com/lem_hand_crank_food_strainer_manual_806.html

Not that this helps with your barter... but I saw three styles at a local hardware store when I was in getting canning supplies the other day. Prices between $25-45. Two hand crank style and one funnel style. You might check a local hardware, building center and find one there, would probably be a smaller store, not like Home Depot or Lowes.

I typed in tomato strainers on the internet and got the one that my neighbor got as a gift 12 years ago. Hers is still going but I didn't want to borrow it, so for a total of $34.72 I got one shipped to my house. It went through paypal and it was the only time I have ever put anything on a credit card over the computer. But now I can't wait until the fed-ex guy arrives.

Hope all your days are Sunnydays.

I got mine from (joe@creativecookware.com ) I haven't recieved it yet it said it would take 4 to 7 working days to get here.
Everytime I typed in tomato slicer/ juicer it would take me to another site. I never found the first one I looked at again, so when I saw this one I just ordered it. It is made from heavy duty plastic just like my neighbors so I'm not to worried about it, I just want it soon. Good luck.

Hope all your days are Sunnydays.
