From pitting cherries for a homemade from scratch all-the-way cherry pie!

We had a couple pounds of cherries in the fridge that were starting to go bad, so I decided that it was time to make a cherry pie!

I took a potato peeler (since I don't have a cherry pitter) and sliced all the way around the cherry with the blade part and dug out the seed with the eye gouger thingy part (don't you love how technical I am? LOL). So my cherried are cut and seeded like I do my avacados. I am going to attempt a pie crust and we'll see how it goes. I might just make a cherry cobbler....

Next time just take a plastic straw and shove it through the cherrie in the stem end and out will pop the pit.

I took one of those crazy straws that are curled around that my kids had, cut off about 5 inches at the bottom and that is what I use to pit cherries. works great!
