I'm hoping for some input on how to freeze fresh sliced peaches. I understand I need to put lemon juice or something on them to keep from browning. But do they have to be blanched first. Have you done it without adding sugar? I just want plain old frozen peaches for smoothies, cobblers, etc. When I looked online, most added sugar/syrup.

Looking forward to getting some good tips!

I have dipped in a lemon juice water combo and laid them out in quarters or slices on a cookie sheet with freezer paper wax side up and froze. then I take them after they are soild and move them into ziplock bags and use as I need them. the fruit fresh from Ball is good too.

I don't do the sugar but have done the lemon juice bath. I've also froze some without. a little brown but since they go into smooties I don't worry adn it doesn't effect the taste. I agree about freezing them on a cookie sheet first and then into jars or bags. Help with freezer burn.

Thank you, ladies! They turned out great. Just peeled, sliced, squeezed fresh lemon over them and froze on trays. They look sooo pretty. My son keeps trying to eat them and I tell him they are for winter!
