Good morning farmgirls, I have a question I wanted to place here, I thought it would be seen faster. Does anyone out there know the "codes" put on produce thats say's whether they are GE, organic or natural. I saw it somewhere & now cant find it. I went through all my MJF mags last night until 3:30am looking because I thought I read in one of them but couldnt find it. The code which most people dont realize indicates how it was grown. Switching over to all organic (little by little) this is very important but cant remember where I was it. Any help is really appreciated. Thanks

Michele, Organic produce codes all begin with the number "9", and are one digit longer than all the other codes. For example, regular bananas are 4011, but organic bananas are 94011. Happy hunting... although at my grocery they are well labeled and displayed in separate sections. At farmers market you just have to ask and get to know the vendors and their reliability.

Clare, thank you. I couldnt remember where I saw it. I've been shopping at different places to see where I can get most of my shopping organic or at least natural & I dont trust some of there places. I ask a question, they cant answer it, Im skeptical. Thanks
